Pest Proofing Mouse Mesh Air Brick Vent Cover, Flame retardant ABS frame 105mm x 255mm x 13mm, Brown, 95mm x 245mm

Ordered this after seeing wasps taking an interest in an air brick under kitchen window. I didn't use the screw hole fixings but a good quality plastic to brickwork sealant. Fixed to wall over air brick and completely protects from all kinds of pests. Looks smart and blends into surroundings.

Found that mice had chewed a hole in a plastic brick air vent and had happily set up home. Trapped them with some cheap snap traps off amazon and bought one of these to cover their entry point.It's a simple and neat solution. If you elect to screw it to the wall the cover has four pre-drilled holes, one at each corner, and small caps to cover the head of the screws if you use them (screws are not supplied). Personally I used a product called 'sticks like sh*t' which is an adhesive that sticks pretty much anything including massonary & bricks. It worked a treat and dries clear so no drilling and mess. Perfect. Cover had been up for about 6 months now and no issues.

4 Stars for Quality - Price balance...It does look nice if you have a straight wall like mine, much nicer than just a simple mesh...; the price is quite high for what it is and the plastic edge doesn't look too strong.I haven't had mice or rats but my neighbour had ( hence I bought these) and I've seen how they chew through floorboards...Company says that these are full mice/rat proof! but funny that in their advert they show how some rats chew a solid plastic airbrick! :)...and the edge of these is plastic...

Excellent cover for airbrick vent - original cover supplied by the builders insufficient and damaged/broken either by rodents or general wear. Has prevented mice entering the space under my kitchen sink which had become a problem. Very neat and a good fit - a good buy

I have now installed 11 of these and I am pleased with the results. Initially I ordered 7 and installed them, then followed-up with another 4.All of them have been screw-fixed and they seem robust enough to keep mice and insects at bay and to withstand the elements.These have replaced stainless-steel mesh sheets and although they cost a lot more, I would say they look far more elegant.The screw holes within the units are fine, but it is difficult to insert a pen through them to mark drill locations on the walls. It was simple to cut a piece of cardboard to the size of the units, place it behind one of them and push a small nail through each of the screw-holes to pierce the cardboard. This made a simple template, which I held in position over the wall vents and used with a marker pen pushed through the nail-holes to accurately position the screw hole locations on the walls.

Great fit - Used Everbuild STIXCLEAR-EBD Stixall Extreme Power to stick it on as opposed to drilling and screwing it on . I bought 3 at the finish as i was so happy with the first one

Though intended to keep mice from under the floorboards, I found this product ideal for preventing wasps from crawling through the air bricks that ventilate the space between a flat roof and ceiling. Nothing wrong with letting wasps share your home, but over the years I found that whatever they did up there eventually discoloured older ceilings that did not benefit from a foil facing.The Mousemesh offers 2 fixing methods, screws or exterior grade adhesive sealant. Bearing in mind the inevitability of an uneven mounting surface, I found the adhesive bead needed to be substantial to avoid the tiniest gap giving an insect the possibility of squeezing through. I first applied a diluted PVA solution to both surfaces to improve adhesion. Using screws did not work for me. The non-uniformity of the mounting surface implied screw tension sufficient to make the frame comply. This was more than the intricate, double-recess design of the screw mounting areas could handle and they fractured.

Good product, easy to fit using a good adhesive but overall dimensions are larger than a standard air brick so it won’t fit into spaces in which the brick is part of a single course, such as beneath an external door.
