Simple and effective solution for scratchy little ones. The unique double layer mitts with a smooth silk outer layer ensure that damage caused by scratching and rubbing is minimized. The cardigan design ensures that ScratchSleeves are easy to put on and stay firmly in place without the need for fiddly fastening, which can also be used for scratching. Loose fitting sleeves ensure that babies stay cool and sensitive skin on hands and arms is not irritated. Originally designed for babies and kids with eczema, ScratchSleeves are also effective for all sorts of scratching and irritation including chicken pox, cradle cap, ear pulling, overly enthusiastic thumb sucking, nail-biting and even hair pulling. “ScratchSleeves are brilliant! We can now relax knowing our 5 month old daughter isn't scratching her eczema until she bleeds when she's asleep or in the car. What a difference your product has made to our lives. Thank you!” – Lindsay

Works
Ideally I would give it 4.5 stars. Model with the Velcro probably works better. This one has to be worn under a onesie or long sleeve pj otherwise it comes off right away. But it sure stops my eczema baby going to town on her face and scalp..

Better sleep is worth it
These are a lifesaver!!!! Game changer!!! For sleeping with Eczema. My 3 year old son has to wear them every night. He would get soo bloody at night from his scratching and clawing. I was up all night holding his hands because he would get socks off easily. I wash these sleeves every 3 or 4 days. My sister-in-law bought him 2 more of the same ones because her dog ripped one of the mittens. I ended up washing and sewing the one the dog ripped because I couldn’t handle going through a night or two without them till we recieved the new ones. I Love!!! having more than one to switch off between washings or if he gets them dirty. We sleep so much better, he still itches and rubs hard but his skin doesn’t have scratches like it did. I have the bamboo ones too which are softer, more stretchy, and more expensive. These, the striped material around the shoulders is stiffer but I love the silky mittens that are soft on his neck and face. The stiffer material makes it not as easy and the soft bamboo for him to stretch all over to itch. They look nice except the white mitten part gets dirty looking from use. The thickness of the fabric on the mittens is good. My son has gone through one silky layer of the bamboo mittens from rubbing so much. The mittens on the scratch sleeves are still good.

One mitten was sewed incorrectly
One mitten was sewed incorrectly the soft side was inside and the rough side outside. I have to take it to the tailor to fix it. Other than that, it was a good product my baby can’t take it off easily like other mittens.

Worked very well for thumb suckling problem
Used it on my baby and now he is free from it. It took 3 months. I used it during naps and during night. I let daytime be a distraction for him with snacks and toys and sleep time was hard sometimes but eventually got better.

Wish I found you sooner!!!
My 9 month old son have really bad eczema. He kept scratching at the same spot over and over again. It's a cycle that repeats and it wasn't healing at all. I decided to purchase this even though there were a lot of mixed reviews but I felt like I had nothing else to try. We put this on our son (then 6 months) to sleep and then put his sleep sack on, just couple of days later, we saw noticeable difference. His scratches were finally healing!!! Spending $20 on something like this did felt ridiculous but it's the best investment ever!!! Now I have an extra pair to switch between washes. It's been 3 months and it's still looking like new. The silk mittens are still intact, no holes, even though I've seen him biting and chewing on it when he's awake. It says it can be tumbled dried but I haven't tried since parts of it are made of silk. I also put it in a small laundry bag to wash. One thing to note is that the sleeve part is not stretchy at all (nature of silk I guess). So even if the wingspan fits, if your baby have bigger than average size hands, you may want to size up. We have the 9-12 month one for when my baby was 8 months old because the 6-9m hand part were just too tight. What we did was we just hand sewed the back to make it tighter and remove/adjust it as he grows. So far it's been working for us.
