Like the title says, it's great for natural hair! I recommend using it on freshly washed/co-washed, thoroughly rinsed hair (as opposed to simply wetting dry hair). A little goes a long way as you will see. Use minimal pumps, not only because it's expensive (the ONLY reason it doesn't get 5 stars), but also because the hold can be very stiff if you're not careful. This stuff really holds. Start with a minimal amount in your hand (2 pumps for me) and work it into your damp hair. Wet your hands with water to create more foam if necessary. It may take using it 2-3 times before you figure out the perfect amount for your hair. Again, for me, it takes 2 pumps and wet hands for the look I like. When it dries, you hair will look and feel quite luxurious (for lack of a better word)--very smooth and shiny with insane curl definition and minimal frizz. You will be touching your hair all day. NOTE: My hair is very short--2 inches max at the longest point. I imagine that this product will work even better on longer hair.

I have a very strong LOVE-HATE relationship with this stuff.It definitely holds and defines fine 3c/4a, high porosity curls beautifully, but I do not love the price. Hence, I am actively seeking a less costly alternative.Detangles well and helps with curl chunking. My hair is just past my chin length when curly, nearly bra strap length when straight.The girl who recommended this to me also has fine hair (and a length I wish I had).For those who don't have a curl pattern: it works well for twist-outs too.Update:I’m pretty sure that my last shipment was Set 2 in a Set 3 bottle. I have used Set 2 before and it comes out more white/frothy than the Set 3 which has a more liquid-foam appearance. It also has a much lighter/softer hold. Either my last shipment was Set 2 in a Set 3 bottle or the formulation has changed. I have been ordering for over two years now and this is the first time I experienced inconsistencies with the product.

I have been using SET products since they hit the market, can't recall how long ago ~ 8 years, maybe more? It took me a few applications to figure out how much product my hair requires- it's a couple more pumps than I was starting out with... definitely watch the video for tips! I will be dedicated to this product for as long as it is on the shelf. Truthfully, I am always looking for the next best thing and periodically have purchased foams/creams/gels from other lines claiming to be curls best friend: Redken, DevaCurl, Bumble & Bumble, Ouidad, and so on, but each of those other products have been a 'one and done' for me. Sometimes I don't even finish a bottle from whomever & am back on my tried and true: SET

Love, love, love! A little goes a long way. Keeps the hair shiny without being oily or sticky. Holds without being stiff. Doesn't flake. Put it in before I put my hair up in a bun, and my hair comes out much smoother than without.I also purchased this at the salon where it was developed. The woman behind the counter recommended Set 2, but it was not strong enough. She couldn't see how deceptively unruly, coarse, thick, and dense my hair is because I went in after a blowout. I kept the travel size and bought a 16 oz refill of Set 3. It was a little too strong, and took a little longer to dry. So I just make sure to apply Set 3 while my hair is still pretty wet. I use a wet brush to comb it through, where I really notice how great of a detangler it is.

Over the years I've tried just about every product under the sun for curly hair... to tame the frizz and support soft curls that hold together without being crunchy. Upon receiving the product I thought "oh no! this will not do" since I'm accustomed to heavy mouse products to hold my hair however, I was pleasantly surprised. It did an amazing job hold the curl, taming the frizz and looking shiny. Everyone's hair is different, this one worked for me thankfully. Now I'm purchasing the large refill bottles to fill the travel size.
