really good machine
well I took a risk buying this as I have a very bad back. the reviews seems to say it wasn't too difficult to use so I bought it and I wasn't disappointed!weight wise it is heavy for me and moving to the allotment needed a helping hand but when using the machine it didn't feel heavy at all! which was great because I could trundle on myself for hours.if you know what your doing then guiding this machine is relatively easy and moving forward dosnt need any more than raising or lowering the handles. once in use the wheel at the front loosens off and its easy to move position when moving between plots.if a stone gets jammed it dosnt keep going like bigger models until its completely jammed! it stops and you can easily get the stone out without much trouble. out of 2 hours it only jammed two times which considering how stony the ground has been in the past is brilliant.the back pin for the guide bar is ridiculously hard to use so I opened it up with a pair of pliers and it seems easier.it built in under an hour from the box which was great! instructions are in pictures so very easy.the quality of the ground once turned over is very good. it turned over wet soil very easily and left a fine till full of air ready for planting with a quick rake over.I tried turning over a new bit of ground from grass for a new bed and yes as others have said it dose do the job. im only using it for wild flowers so not worried about weeds coming up. it will need going over twice maby three times from grass but for a smaller machine it dose a very good job.the build quality is very good. it feels sturdy when using it and dose feel like its quality made and not cheap.if your looking for something easy and light to use then this is brilliant. highly recommend it and it feels like it will last a life time if looked after.

Excellent product - But beware your own limitations.
This was delivered yesterday and I have used it today. This rotovator does exactly what it is designed to do, but, if like me, this is your first venture into this machinery then can I make some points. It came very well packed, the instructions could have been clearer but they were adequate. The bolts etc are separately packed in numbered bags so you cant go far wrong, there are 2 spanners supplied but you would be best off using one spanner and a socket set or adjustable. The problem I had was with the throttle, it had separated into 3 parts and there is no clear instruction on how to put it together, it was a very frustrating 15 minutes working out how it fitted together with the cable. It is heavy, the weight of this machine is 35kg, a very awkward 35kg, I am a fit well built individual and have some difficulty moving it by myself over any obstructions and decent stand would be useful. That being said, the weight is satisfying, it does a good job even over soft ground, but you need to develop a technique and let it do the work, yes it saves digging but it is still quite hard work. The reason I have given it 4 stars is the aggravation I had putting together the throttle assembly and lack of a proper stand.

Unlucky ?
I ought to write a review about this machine..So after reading all the positive reviews I thought to myself it looks good and sound powerful so bought it to use in my allotment. It has not been dug for 2 years but the ground was covered for the winter so it wasn't in a very bad state but still needed work.I have received the Tiller pretty quickly and I loaded it in the car boot and took it to the allotment, the box fitted my car boot just fine and I was quite happy .It took me 40 minutes to assemble it and I have used my own toolbox, not the two keys provided (although you should be able to use those and you don't have to use your own tools). The tiller comes already with oil so I only had to fill it with petrol.Turned it on and used it for about ten minutes and the suddenly the tines stopped working.. I stopped it and started fiddling around with the gears and the throttle for the next hour with no avail..the engine was turning on but the tines wouldn't turn, I have tried to contact the manufacturer (there is a sticker to contact them if you had any problems) they suggested to return this to amazon.. so I did ..I dissembled the unit, put most of the petrol back in the petrol can, everything back in the box and contacted amazon, they have arranged a replacement for me.The second one arrived, same process with getting it to the allotment and assembling it again, this worked for about 30 minutes and I have done almost 1/4 of the allotment but then the engine just turned off, I took the rotavator out and checked for any blockages but I couldn't see any, I have cleaned all the weeds and soil and tried to start it again. I have pulled the starter cord three times but nothing happened then fourth time the cord would go that far, I have tried again and then the pull cord wouldn't even move..Needless to say that I was extremely disappointed, I contacted amazon and explained the situation and they offered to refund or another replacement as this was not the same issue.I said that I will contact the manufacturer to see if I can run some basic troubleshooting and resolve this.I have contacted Einhell by phone and I was asked to email them which I did, after sending them two mails I never got a response (very disappointing), reading on the net the problem might have been due to a flywheel key misalignment but I didn't want to mess around without any guidance / support from the manufacturer.Believe it or not I went for the third replacement thinking third time lucky .. and lucky it was,(same process again disassembling and carrying argg_The machine that I have now works fine without any sudden mishaps so far and I used it to do the whole allotment (finally), I don't find it as strong as some people say and it struggles at times when it encounters hard soil, then you have to move it forward a bit or left and right but overall it's quite good.I am a little hesitant to use it much and i am very careful when I do but I guess this is due to the bad experience .Maybe I was just unlucky? but it has certainly been an ordeal. So bottom line it is good if you are not unlucky, however support from Einhell Uk was non existent. Kudos to amazon for the excellent service ,PS.might up the rating a star if it keeps on working , might put it down two if it breaks again.

I bought this on the basis of good and reliable German engineering
I bought this on the basis of good and reliable German engineering; maybe this is the exception that proves the rule, but it was a wrong assumption. Time consuming and a bit fiddly to assemble - which I accept as a necessity - but after very little use, the clutch seized. Because I was in the middle of a project, I decided to carry on (which is possible, if difficult, and certainly not recommended) but then the drive belt started slipping with virtually no load on the tiller. A phone call to Einhell requested that the unit be returned to them for the clutch to be repaired, while a quick check of the user guide says that belts have to be sorted by a dealer, so I was 'stuffed'. Sadly, this appears to be of Far Eastern quality, built to a low price with no thought to maintainability, and with all the inherent problems that are associated with cheap products.

Prima!
