The most powerful electric saw at a great price.
As can be expected Hitachi tools perform well and this is no exception. I originally wanted a Wormdrive saw, but the new Dewalt cordless costs £500. The EU doesnt allow wormdrives, which are common in the US due to their inherent torque. It cuts effortlessly through green oak, unlike the Lidl and older dewalt 24v cordless which stall and the blades burn.

its a beast!
This is a brute. it's loud, solid, and will cut through practically anything. the 1700W motor is the primary draw for me. It's ideal for cutting thick sheets where you've got the space to wrestle it. A decent depth of cut and a cast alloy baseplate means the cuts are repeatable as it doesn't flex. This makes it good for cutting thicker timber which needs to be cut from both sided - get your marks in the right place and you can do it in 2 passes and nobody will ever know. It's heavy and a bit of a handful though - there's no soft start, so it'll kick when you start the motor. The case and accessories are basic but functional - the edge guide is handy and effective, the case is a little small as you need to do horrible things to the power cable to get it to close. If you need something accurate yet with the grunt to saw through your timber and the sawbench at the same time (because you forgot to check the depth) then this is the tool for you. If you need something lightweight for find and awkward work, look at something smaller and cordless.

NIce saw... my favorite "skill-saw" substitute
I wanted the same Hitachi saw I had in Canada (and used heavily for many years) and this one is the same but 240V. Very precise, easy-to see cut-line notch and durable. A little heavy, but that adds to the quality. Glad I found this one... and at a sensible price compared to the main brands. You will probably get some better blades, but I would recommend.

Does a great job for a great price.
IT IS A GREAT LITTLE SAW. IT'S A BIT HEAVIER THAN MY LAST ONE BUT NONE THE LESS IT CUTS BEAUTIFULLY AND I HAD A LOOK AROUND TO SEE WHAT SAWS WERE AROUND AND THIS BY MY BOOKS CAME OUT TOPS. i'M VERY PLEASED WITH IT. IT DID TAKE ABOUT 5 DAYS TO COME IN THE POST ON STANDARD DELIVERY, PERHAPS IF YOU'RE DESPERATE FOR IT BEST PAY A LITTLE BIT EXTRA TO GET IT QUICKER.

Finish is quite bad, but overall OK
It seems at its made really cheap, the base had scratches on it, the box is cheapest molded type there is. Nothing seems "Wow this is built with quality, but then again the price is cheap, and its as all other major brands, except this one is 20-30% more powerful for the same money. I might look into changing blade soon and then giving edit on how it works. Like I said there's nothing particularly wrong with the tool, but the finish is quite not what it should be expected from a new tool, even for this price.

Nicely engineered tool as you'd expect from Hitachi
Nicely engineered tool as you'd expect from Hitachi, cut's cleanly with it's high rpm even with the supplied blade. No fancy "add ons" just a solid workmanlike tool that feels like it will last a very long time and is a pleasure to use. It was also delivered to me in Hungary in superfast time so full marks to the supplier.

Puissance
