Waffle maker seems to have production damage
Waffle maker seems to have production damage - it doesn’t lock properly. Also we are very disappointed to find out that pates are not removable, no idea how to wash them before and after use.

Best Belgium Waffle Maker!
I love, love, love this greenpan waffle maker! Makes the best waffles! Easy to use. Clean up is more time consuming as the plates are not removeable.

Healthy non-stick option, easy to clean
Got this as a birthday present for myself, and my whole family loves it. We make vegan waffles and have experimented with high-protein batter, chocolate chips, and a waffle hashbrown recipe so far. We don't use any non-stick cooking spray or oil or anything and the waffles pop out easily with a wooden spatula or chopsticks. It's easiest to clean if you under-fill it a bit so nothing spills out the sides and back, but even when that happens it wipes down easily, something I was nervous about since its irons don't come out for cleaning in the sink. It heats up and cooks quickly, can do a range of crispiness options to please differing palates, fills the kitchen with a wonderful smell when cooking, and clips closed and stores standing up compactly on its side when we're done with it. I think this is a great addition to any home cook's gear collection, if you're looking for something new to wow your family and guests. Particularly pleased it doesn't expose your food to plastics or teflon or anything else unhealthy, just ceramic.

Plates are *not* removable-photo is deceptive
I ordered this item largely because of the photo showing someone washing the removable plates in the sink, but the item that came does not actually have removable plates. I returned it so I can’t comment on how well it works. It’s weird because I ordered this after clicking on a link in a waffle iron review article that also mentioned the removable (and replaceable!) plates-which would be great. But it’s not this item.
