Absolute Beginners Accordion Bk/Cd Paperback – 28 April 2010

For fun, I bought an accordion - having no knowledge of the instrument. I just always like it. Within 2 weeks of purchasing this book, I could play recognisable tunes - well, I could recognise them! Nice little book. It also come with a useful CD to play along to.

Well, I tried to understand this book. I play the piano reasonably well, so thought it would be fun to learn the accordion. Well, this book didn't help. The author doesn't make it clear whether the accordion is 'up' or 'down' (so this causes great confusion), and then she launches into the bass without explaining whether you are playing the outer, middle or inner keys. The illustrations are muddled and actually makes things harder to understand. I am sure there is a good book out there, but this isn't it!

Good book for complete beginners as stated. Highly recommended if you are just starting out on the accordion. Well laid out, easy to learn the basic techniques.
