I hated not having a key off way to charge my devices. I wired this directly to a full time hot wire in my truck. Fits great, looks nearly factory, charges my phone... what more can you ask for?Also, I really didn’t like the LEDs, so I popped the front cover off, melted the solder and pulled the 2 LEDs out. You could easily just clip the wires and achieve the same result.

This USB outlet looks great in my 08 4Runner. It was super easy to install in my center console of my SR5 4Runner which has a couple blank switch locations. The panel is extremely easy to pop out. This can be seen on several online videos. The USB ports sap right in and I wired them into the supply line to the 12V outlet right in front. Note on this truck that the lid of the 12V outlet acts a switch to turn on the outlet. Wire it in before the switch so that it is powered separately. On my truck brown was hot. Red on the USB goes to Brown.Tools needed include a multi meter to test wires, connectors, wire strippers, pliers, any connectors you choose to use, and electrical tape. Be careful to keep bare wires separated if you power it up to test. I got lazy and I crossed bare wires by accident and it cost me a 15Amp fuse. Once I swapped out the fuse and finalized connections, all was great.Yes, its shiny, and my dash it mat black. Yes it has blue LED's, and if I don't like them, I can always go over them with a sharpy.

Bought this to put in my 08 4Runner and it was pretty easy. Works great so far, better than using a cigarette lighter adapter.

I bought this thinking it fit my 1990 Toyota pickup dash. It looks very similar, but if you are thinking it will snap in, think again. It might fit later model Toyotas, but I didn't have much luck. As shown in my photos, I went through the trouble of taking it apart (which is easy, as someone else noted) and then slid the two circuit boards out; this allowed me to snip off the blue LED's. I also used someone else's trick of sanding with 400 grit sandpaper to produce a matte finish. That worked so-so. Reassembly was easy enough. When I went to test fit it into my truck's dash board panel, that's when I realized this isn't an exact fit for the older Toyotas. Ugh.I also tested this to see if it would do a fast charge for my iPad Pro, but no such luck.Overall, it seems pretty well made. The circuit board looks nice and I like that it's easy to get rid of the LED back lighting. I think if I had a later 4Runner or Pickup, it might have snapped into place. Given that mine is a 1990, it didn't fit exactly as I needed.

Perfect replacement for my old one .

We picked up a new to us 2003 4runner and needed a USB charger. I wanted to go with something that appeared OEM/Stock and found this charger. I chose to use an add a circuit and took power off of the Cig lighter which is 10A. Wiring was easy, I found a ground underneath my console and tucked the wires away keeping it all clean.The housing for the USB charger only fit the blank all the way to the right of the driver's side so I went with that location. As some have mentioned the charger is more glossy which is different from the stock plates-which didn't bother me enough to want to paint the face. Also as mentioned the inline fuse on the wiring harness isn't put together well. I ended up taking it out of the wiring scheme as the charger didn't work at first-once removed it worked like a champ.I'll keep an eye on the bright blue lights when we are driving at night-some have mentioned that they can be a distraction.Looks to be a solid product and great option for those who are needed to upgrade their vehicle's charging options.

Fits 2006 4Runner console ports. LED light inside is kinda annoying though
