Great buy!
I got this in a lightening deal. It’s awesome. Charged it in home first then mounted and hooked up to included solar panel. Birds were in camera within the hour! So cool.

FUN
We have loved watching the birds, now the squirrels are not so fun. We've moved anything that the squirrel can climb up on to get to the feeder. We also put a baffle on the pole. We get to where we just wait for a different bird to come to the feeder. We recommend this feeder!!! Update 9-6-24: I was having trouble with the plug-in for the solar panel. I searched the company out on Google and emailed them with my problem, they have keep in contact with me within 12 hours of my email, I can't say enough good things about this company!!! I'm awaiting a part from them that will fix my problem. One thing that surprised both my husband and me was that even the fact that I could not plug the solar panel in the camera continued working for almost a week with no charge, Anyone looking for a beautiful bird feeder with a camera PLEASE buy this one....the camera is perfect and the customer service is beyond the BEST!!!!

Bird Watching is so much fun!
LOVE! 4 stars because set up and installation wasn't clear. They give you a video to watch, but it is not an installation video at all. I figured it out, though, and I love that I don't need to take it down to charge it as the solar panel takes care of that. Bird watching has been taken to a new level!

Great gift for a bird watcher
Purchased this for my wife and she loves it. A bit pricey for a feeder but we use the camera also for security. It has an amazing picture and a really wide view. The wireless signal doesnt go too far but works well for where we installed it. It worked for about a week on just one charge before we got the solar panel. I would highly recommend this if someone is thinking about purchasing one. After using this for a while, my wife and I are enjoying and learning how to use it. We still occasionally have a problem but the unit overall works good. The camera is fantastic and the solar panel is a nice addition. The videos are super clear and the AI works well. It’s really fun to see the birds come up to the feeder while I’m at work. The feeder has attracted more birds to my yard and I’m learning more about their habits. I didn’t know many of them and now, I just touch AI and I get identication and if I want I can get lots more information about them. I look forward to seeing them each day. With SD card, it stores all activity and I can see my puppies in the yard, too!

I love this
So i gave this 5 stars. I was going to give it 4 because i have not been able to get the solar panel to keep it charged and the AI isn't always accurate. But it could be positioning as far as the solar panel. However, the charge lasts 10 days with constant use from sun up to sundown which is ompressive. Iput it to sleep at night. It stays on the internet as long as the battery is charged. The AI is accurate about 75% of the time. I know birds and it messes up. But overall fairly accurate. I've tried the popular brand and i sent it back. It would not work even with 2.4 ghz. This works great. I also tried 2 others and sent them back. This worked immediately and is still working. Very clear videos as you can see. I love it. I'm going to call customer service to see why the panel isn't charging the unit Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

Amazing!
Bought it for my roommate as a gift. Probably took me 15 minutes to set up and mount. Probably one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Sends a notification anytime of Bird lands right to my phone. Videos HD and looks great. The only struggle I could see for anybody would be making sure it’s close enough to your Wi-Fi. I have extremely strong Wi-Fi so it’s not an issue.. Excellent value for the price, especially for someone who likes birds. I was also very surprised by how well the solar panel works. Mine is mounted on a tree where there is not direct sunlight. It’s still manages to stay fully charged even though I changed the record time to one minute and dozens of birds land there every day.

Great Starter Smart Birdfeeder!
I bought this video birdfeeder to get my kids interested in birdwatching. It pairs with a birdbath we have in our backyard. Overall, it is a decent starter smart birdfeeder. The price around $100 is a good value, although it also goes on sale frequently. Pros: + Good price for a smart birdfeeder that does not rely on generic Chinese video apps. + Video quality is good 2K. Timestamp in the upper left corner makes videos easy to identify. + Bird detection works relatively well. It identified multiple bird species local to my area including northern cardinals, house finches, common grackles, and blue jays. The trial is a generous 30 days. + Included SD card records events even if cloud service doesn’t capture them. There seems to be 2 different motion criteria that activate the camera, one for the local SD card and one for the cloud recording service. + Standard SMA connector for Wi-Fi antenna let me replace it with a higher gain antenna for better signal outdoors. + Good camera FOV covers entire food tray. + Included solar panel trickle charges camera, extending battery life. Cons: - Instructions are incomplete or outdated. Instructs you to download Vico Home app. But only after registering an account does Vico Home tell you that birdfeeder support is discontinued and you need to download the Vico Nature app. Thankfully, sign-in works for both apps. - Camera sometimes loses Wi-Fi connection. It is 2.4GHz only, which should help with connectivity, but has slower transfer speeds. - Cloud recordings often have skips when Wi-Fi connection could not adequately stream video for recording. This happens often with faster-moving birds. They will freeze and reappear in a different part of the birdfeeder. - Camera only charges at 2W, regardless of charger type and USB-C port. This is inadequate to keep the camera charged using the included solar panel or plugging in a USB battery bank. (The charge rate was so low that my battery bank turned off thinking there was no device attached.) I had to take the entire birdfeeder inside after 2 weeks to recharge the battery from a wall outlet, but still at 2W. - App saves video files with hexadecimal filenames. A simple date and time file system would make it easier to organize video files. - Downloading videos from the SD card often fails. The Wi-Fi connection is not fast enough to send full resolution video files. - AI bird detection and cloud recording require an $80/year subscription - Birdkiss sells 2 different smart birdfeeders on their website, but it is impossible to tell the difference between them. It appears that both products are listed together on Amazon also. Ultimately, this smart birdfeeder was a great entry point to birdwatching. We have seen so many birds and my kids have been very excited to see who visits each day. I will have to research its competitors when it comes time to replace this unit. I don’t think I will need to replace it because it will break, but more that I will become too annoyed with having to take it down to charge the camera battery or at the Wi-Fi signal issues. In the meantime, I hope to enjoy this birdfeeder. PS: Don't lose the rubber stopper for the birdseed hopper. It is the only way to prevent birdseed from falling out when you have to take the birdfeeder down. And Birdkiss cannot sell or send you a replacement.
