Only been fitted a few days
Bought for an elderly parent who couldn't hear and ordinary bell over the telly!Also it benefits from mains electric as she kept fogetting to charge the batteries.Seems to be OK - I didn't have ask for help to fit it and managed to drill the wall myself not bad for a lady whos is not into DIY.However the bell push - when the battery goes will need to be unscrewed from the wall - then at least 4 more screws to get the back off. In addition the holes for the wall screws are covered with a small oval self adhesive - shame it is in WHITE and not the same gray as the bell push.

Amplicall 20
Arrived promptly and easy to set up. I bought this for my hearing impaired mother and she was able to hear the door chime easily. The flashing light is also very good, the only problem is the range of the device. It should be effective for 30 metres, however I found that as the doorbell was fitted to the door frame downstairs, the range was closer to 20 metres.I contacted customer support, who were very helpful and supplied me with a replacement door push, but to no avail. However, apart from that caveat, a good product.

Faulty badly designed bell push
My problem is also with the bell push. It connects therefore rings without being pushed this happened when I was out therefore draining the battery. I asked for another one and it worked fine for a while but the same thing happened with this one. Obviously a design fault here and as a previous reviewer commented there are a host of small screws to get to the mechanism. I think it is probably damp getting into the wiring causing the problem although I made sure the rubber seal was fitted properly. I've got it working again for now by not tightening the inner screws so much. I think there's a problem with the silicone rubber button which you push as well all in all its not very well designed!

Loud but with a Twang
We missed an important delivery because we didn't hear the doorbell. Si I purchased the loudest doorbell I could find on Amazon. Well its very loud and its portable or mains via a plug in adaptor. It does however have an irritating distorted sound, which in a way makes it more noticeable I suppose, but annoying all the same. But nobody can dispute its VERY loud. I love it.

Door bell and phone repeater
Great for hard of hearing relatives, flashes too for either the door bell or phone.I used this longer cable to plug into the unit from a phone line splitter. It must be a crossed cable - I tried an un-crossed (straight) cable and it did not work. A 10 meter cable got me from the near the phone socket around to the unit which was placed under the television.Example of 10 metre cable to get phone bell repeated (I think a shorter cable was included in the box) :

A wonderful device. We can hear it even outside. Hopefully no more missed callers.Don't stand too near it when it rings - you might jump out of your skin!

Geemarc Amplicall 20 loud combined doorbell
I am partially deaf and very often than not I sometimes never hear my doorbell, but the one I purchased from Geemarc is the best thing I have bought in a very long time, not only do I hear the bell I get a flashing light as well which is a great help to me, now when I get a visitor they do not have to go away thinking I am out when I don't answer the door. I would recommend this bell to anyone who has a hearing problem.

Once I sorted out the fact that I kept answering the phone ach time the door bell rang it was great. I can hear the phone wherever I am without moving the base station but if someone was really deaf then the base station moves around and the flashiong lights would let them know that the phone was ringing

The Geemarc Clearsound AMPLICALL 20 is a telephone ring indicator and doorbell with all the benefits of the AMPLICALL10 but with the addition of being able to use it as a doorbell alerter, so you won't miss a call or a visitor again! The AMPLICALL 20 will ring and/or flash when someone calls you or if someone presses the doorbell. The extra loud ringer can ring up an astounding 95dB! The Amplicall20 also has adjustable volume and tone control so you can set the sound most comfortable for you. You can also purchase an optional shaker, (CLA2 shaker pad) which can be plugged into the AMPLICALL20 as an optional extra if required. This will mean that when the door bell or telephone rings, the shaker pad will vibrate, making this an ideal solution for those heavy sleepers who are expecting important visitors or an important call. The product is supplied with a mains adaptor, batteries can be added as a back up if required.
