Our 3-ZIP design has won a lot of fans over the years... for good reason. The COULEE 25 fills a key size gap in our 3-ZIP offering. Two front, exterior stretch woven pockets make it easy to tuck your wind shirt or skins for swift retrieval. Side stretch woven pockets keep water bottles handy. The top lid has a zippered compartment for stashing cameras, snacks, etc. Our re-direct waist belt secures the load.

Amazing backpack, not sure if I need the 40 or the 25 though.
I love the coulee series, though I can't say I like the new ones. I really love the designs they came up with for these packs, there are a few things however that I think they missed on though. For me, my criteria is: Needs to fit my computer and other supplies for college (my too large laptop 15x17 fits in this backpack btw), work for some supplies while I'm skiing in the winter, some of the same for hiking as well. The pros:-This pack is almost too small for my stuff for school, just barely fitting two notebooks, my laptop, its charger and some other small things (but it does fit).-The pack is very comfortable, supportive lumbar padding feels way better than my last backpack.-The shell material as well as the zippers give me some extra confidence in the rain.-Incredibly unique and smart design on the Y zipper, and the soft mesh bottle holders.-The dual (four total) pockets on the sides gives a little more availability for storage. The cons:-Not quite enough space to really make me think its the cure all for a daily pack, though it is really close.-There are very few places that you could suspend or attach organizers (as there is only one pocket that zips closed, and its on the clamshell at the top), so its almost a roll top in the sense of you have to just dump things in it. I like my roll top waterproof pack, but having to dig through it to find my charger or one pen, really makes it less appealing.-Unfortunately the hip straps are pretty meek in their storage capacity. With the 40L you get a lot more space for things in there.Last notes and comments:-I feel like maybe the pockets next to the stem of the Y zipper are overhyped, with me only really able to fit a smaller packable rain jacket, I would liked to have seen daisy chain or molle attachment points for it to really be sold to me.-As for my final decision, I likely will go with the 40L, but I am still deciding. I do like this pack better compared to the 40 on account of the size. If there were an in-between size coulee with weather sealed zippers, more internal organization, straps at the bottom of the pack, and more around 150 I would be all over it.Updates will follow.
