The whole decal is a semi clear sticker surrounding the white lettering. The reason being semi-clear is because some of the adhesive is visible on the sticker itself when you stick it on (for me) a red laptop surface. It may be more clear on a different color surface. For the price point, and the amount of decals you are getting for it, I am okay how the decal turned out on my laptop. Shipping was fast (prime), and the packages came in with no damages at all.Tip: Peel a tiny end of the sticker, fold it back, then press on the decal as you slowly remove the back paper for finger print-less results.

A great sticker set
These were great, and exactly what I expected. In the picture, the Captain America shield was not a part of this set, but the other two were. They look great on the outside of my laptop.
