Shocking!
I have just bought one of these from Conrad Electronic £22 including postageMy intention to construct a deterrent for small-animals.It sends out a high-voltage pulse at a frequency of about once per second. As far as I can tell on my scope it's about 800 V +ve and 500 V -VeYou can touch either electrode without feeling a shock.Only when you touch both together do you notice anything - I have not done this. The package is a little bigger than the usual Kemo moduleTo begin with the squirrels were shocking themselves and unable to reach the bird food. After a few days they learnt to leap as they went up from one electrode to the other so that they were not in contact with two electrodes at the same time and consequently not shocked. Two electrodes of wire mesh were fixed to a length of plastic drain pipe - the pipe was slipped over the bird-feeder post and held in place about half way up.Now - if I make it almost the same but with multiple and smaller sections of mesh wired alternatively to each output - and make it a bit longer - then no fancy leaping will be able to defeat my electric fence. If they leap or if they don't leap they will still get a shock.

Useless
The media could not be loaded. I had made a video review showing this products failures but how it could still be used, two months later all units (the original and their replacements) had completely failed, so now I can't even recommend my work-around. During that time it had simply failed to conduct a worthwhile current along proper electric fence narrow-gauge wire or polywire of only 1.5m length with a parallel -ve cableDuring my numerous emails to the manufacturer they had thought that the low output was caused by my using a 9v supply, they suggested a full blown 12v car battery was needed to get the promised 1000v outputIt important to note that 1,000v sounds like a powerful shock, but an average pond fence running off 2 x D cells will output 6,000v - which is the recommended fence voltage for small short haired animalsI can't recommend this at all

Not powerful enough to do the job
I had high hopes for this item. Yes it pulses, and yes it supplies a shock, but only to bare skin. For the life of me I couldn’t get the shock to penetrate my labradors fur coat. And I had it connected to a 12v, 8amp source. So unless you are trying to repel completely hairless animals, this will be useless to you.

as described, good product

Not much zap
Wired it up to a 12v battery and although the LED was on, there was no zap at the output wires - pathetic.
