The Ultimate Meerkat Book for Kids: 100+ Amazing Meerkat Facts, Photos, Quiz & More (Animal Books for Kids)

I have read several “ultimate” animal books by this author, and I've loved every single one. This one differs from the others I reviewed. Her other books have all had distinct chapters about things like the animal's life cycle, hunting practices, mating rituals, and the like. This book, instead, is a collection of random facts about meerkats along with photos. I wish she had kept the same format as the other books I've read. As always with her books, what brings it alive are the photographs, though this book even seems to have fewer of these than most of her other books. Besides the long fact section, there are also two activities, a 20-question quiz and a word search. Here are a few fun facts I learned about meerkats: their burrows can be two or three stories tall, they can recognize the voices of their friends and family as distinct from other meerkats, and they are immune to otherwise deadly scorpion poison—making scorpions snack food for meerkats! While this book wasn't all I hoped it would be, it is still a fun read and would certainly be enjoyable for children who love animals in general and meerkats in particular.I received a free copy of this book but that did not affect my review.

OMG!!! These animals are soooo cute!!! I loved reading this book and learning more about this animal.There are great facts and photos. Not just a book for kids.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
