you probably know that some models are great, and others are super-overpriced pieces of $@#+
If you have owned any other Vivobarefoot shoes, you probably know that some models are great, and others are super-overpriced pieces of $@#+. Some reflect an actual commitment to minimalist footwear, some are narrow and/or overbuilt mimics of ordinary shoes. "People who buy this also shopped for Shoo-Goo" - You've got a 50/50 shot of needing to glue the soles back on to any vivo product. The Primus FG is great, and I'm not sure these other reviews were meant for this shoe.* These were bought to replace my shredded Evo Pure and they're not nearly as light of course, but offer more comfort on a trail full of acorns and loose gravel. The Evos were like ballet slippers, I liked them so much I didn't even mind having to re-glue the soles. Having to add adhesive to the $200 hand-cut Portos was a different story. That was a bummer. I should also say that vivibarefoot's customer service is basically non-existent. It's tough to say where they are even HQ'd - Europe? US?* The SG, and the Trail Freak look similar, and do kinda suck - the more aggressive tread on the Trail Freak especially so. It's inflexible and narrow, and the compound is dangerously slippery on even moderately damp rock. Bizarre that the Breatho I had before had a similar tread, but was much wider in the toebox, and the compound wasn't nearly as treacherous.)At this point my family has tried just about every style of shoe they've offered, and it's a gamble every time. We keep coming back for more just because there still aren't a lot of options for shoes that aren't actively wrecking your arches and posterior chain. I got lucky with these so far. We'll see how long the soles stay on.

Best vivobarefoot... but with 2 flaws!
I've been wearing vivobarefoots for a long time and I think the Primus FG is my favorite so far for outdoors / general purpose. My main complaint is normally the durability with vivobarefoot, but after a few months, these have held up well with no issues at all including being my only shoe on a 2 week desert bikepacking trip.An unavoidable downside to any minimalist shoe is a shallow puddle is game over for your dry feet. The tread plus the plastic bit on the mesh toe on these, however, is just enough to give them some water resistance so your feet stay dry when you inevitably sink into some squishy ground on the trail. They're as comfy as any other vivobarefoot and look good enough to wear out as a casual shoe too.Docked a star for a couple flaws: Traction on smooth wet surfaces is awful - really, be careful! I love the pull closure, but it needs to be improved as it slips and will loosen up over time if you wear your shoes tight.UPDATE: after about 9 months of casual wearing, an eyelet ripped open :( which might be a weak point here. Also the plastic on the toe has yellowed and looks to be separating a bit from the mesh. Besides that, the rest of the shoe has held up well. I won't dock any more starts, but for $150, I wish I could get these things to at least last a year!

Fits great. Fantastic zero drop shoe
I usually wear 11 or 11.5 for zero drop, so I ordered a 44. Fits great.Fantastic zero drop shoe. I use it at the gym for barbell lifting to maintain a flat foot. I also wear zero drop shoes normally and have been for years. I don't know about durability (bought three months ago, use three times per week in a gym only) but if they break I will change my review, they seem like they will last.

Everything I want, nothing I don’t.
These are true minimalist shoes, lighter and more flexible than any other I’ve tried. Build quality seems good, though time will tell. My previous vivo shows have outlasted the Merrell, new balance, and inov8 minimalist runners I’ve had, giving me reason to believe that these will hold up as well. The speed lace was an unexpected surprise, and a very pleasant one at that. I loved this feature on my Salomon’s, and was really happy to see vivo using it.

Probably the best shoe I’ve ever worn
Probably the best shoe I’ve ever worn.*The sizes are European, if you are a size 10.5 in American I would order a size 44 in Europe which is size 11 in American. This shoe has plenty of room to help your feet when out.I’ve only wore this for a couple of hours. I would highly recommend to slowly transitioning into these shoes (ie wear a few hours a day). Do some basic feet and toe exercises and stretches. Consult MoveU on Instagram.Trivia we have over 30 muscles in our feet why not use them And get them stronger.

Amazing
I am not using it for running on trails but the reason I chose this was because of the build quality and support added to areas you don't normally see on other running shoes. It is truly a barefoot shoe allowing you to walk normally without any added padding. Mine came with extra laces and insoles that have minimal padding just in case I use it on rocky terrain.

Barefoot experience
I bought this for running and I turned it into an all purpose shoe. I still use it for running but I also use it for everything else, unless I need safety shoes. I love these shoes. They are probably the best pair I've ever owned.

They get wet and so do socks.
I love these. They're not as low to the ground as running shoes this company makes but it's low enough for hiking shoes. One thing though, they get wet in the front where there's soft material and goes through to the socks. But they are great looking. Awesome shoes.

Great trainer but damaged and being exchanged
Nothing wrong with service and I’ve had previous pairs of these, great trainer. Mine are just damaged so need to show pics. Will change to five stars once new pair arrive.

Vivobarefoot Primus Trail Firm Ground Men 44

Barfussschuhe
