If I can give you a long winded honest opinion I might be able to help you make a decision. For a homeowner's garage or patio this fan will move some air. It's not gonna peel your shirt off from 50 feet away but it will do the job even for a small commercial shop as well. Even if you have an all out half court basketball sized patio this fan will keep you and your guests cool. It's going to make some noise on high, most fans around the 8800CFM range will...... especially fans you pay around a buck and a quarter for. With that said when it is 95 degrees outside with 67 percent humidity do you wanna talk a little louder or roast like a pig on a spit? Personally if I can still hear my tunes and the beer is cold I don't care. The build quality is very good. The material is sturdy. It has that kind of rough but not too rough coating on the fan housing. I don't know how to describe it. I've had that coating on other things and it's pretty tough. It won't scratch easy or discolor. Ok. About the directions. They're about as clear as mud in a Georgia rainstorm. About one paragraph and a picture I had to use a magnifying glass to see well. Here's the good news. There is very little to assemble here. An axle, two wheels, a brace and two "U" shaped fan support brackets. But there are some tips I can give to make this pretty painless. When assembling the axle: The wheel bolts are pre screwed into the axle ends, remove them. The axle bolts go into the end OPPOSITE of the rubber feet. Do this in this order: Insert the axle bolt through the support. Now put one washer on the other end of the bolt. Now slip the wheel bearing onto the bolt end. Now insert the wheel onto the bolt end making sure the wheel bearing is fully seated into the wheel hub. Now put the last washer on the exposed end of the bolt. Lastly use a wrench to hold the nut on the outside of the wheel while screwing the axle onto the exposed end of the bolt BY HAND. I would recommend using the wrench only to hold the nut while tightening the axle by hand. The interior threads inside the axle ends appear to be just plastic so...........yeah. You have no choice but to use the wrench on the other end but you get the idea. The whole point of this is if you go by how the picture appears when your done assembling guess what? The wheel won't turn freely. Another helpful tip. There are two short downward supports that attach to the fan housing with a large knob on both sides. Make sure you assemble those supports onto the bolt with the screws facing out toward you. If you don't your gonna end up taking it apart later. You might as well take those screws out as soon as you have attached the supports to the fan because they will have to come out anyway when you assemble the base to the fan. Again, none of this is told to you in the directions or in that drawing. I think my granddaughter could have done a better job with that diagram. Yeah.....it's simple but if you're like me you don't appreciate putting something together just to have to take it apart later on because the directions suck. How hard is it to provide decent directions on something like this? Lastly I think I read a review before I bought about the fan getting hot while running? Uhhh Nope. It's been running on my patio for hours on high and the motor aint even warm to the touch. I'll update this later to tell you how it has held up. That's important these days. Did I mention this fan comes with a cover? Its not real heavy but it does have a drawstring on the bottom and it is water proof. For an open air patio a cover is a must. So if you consider a cover costs around 16 bucks plus tax this fan is a pretty good deal.

Sheer power. Use in evenings once outside temperature drops down. We turn A/C off, and place fan close to window in 4th bedroom window facing out. Creates solid airflow pulling fresh cool air into all other upstairs open bedroom windows. Dramatic rapid air change throughout every bedroom. We place as far away from our bedroom as possible because unit is noisy just because of the massive amount of air it moves. Three power levels, but we only use lowest setting. After a couple hours we turn unit off and whole house remains perfect temperature with ambient air exchange until 9-10 next morning. Noise is a drawback but we have large home and noise is acceptable because of distance. This is an industrial fan and too noisy to use for individual bedroom. I just love that l can effectively cool whole house in short period with the fan and the rest of night is just a comfortable summer night with open windows. Second drawback; my wife thinks I’m crazy opening and closing 5-10 windows but it’s worth it too me to enjoy overnights with just open windows and ambient summer evening temperatures.
