Stylish, Sturdy, and Keeps Me Dry – Great Umbrella!
This umbrella is everything I wanted in a classic design—sleek, durable, and dependable. It’s been my go-to on rainy days, and I feel a bit more put-together whenever I carry it. Why I love it: Solid Construction: It holds up really well in wind and rain. No flipping inside out like cheap umbrellas. Large Coverage: The canopy is wide enough to keep both me and my backpack dry—perfect for walking or commuting. Elegant Look: The black fabric with the curved wooden handle gives it a timeless, polished vibe. It’s great for both casual and formal use. Easy to Use: Opens smoothly with the push of a button, and it’s lightweight enough to carry around without hassle. This is a great umbrella if you’re tired of flimsy ones that barely survive a drizzle. It looks sharp, works well, and feels like it’ll last a long time. Highly recommend for anyone wanting function and style in one package!

Sturdy, reliable umbrella through 8 years of use
This is a good umbrella. I bought it back in 2018, so figured it is now time (in 2026) to write a review as I get ready to retire it. This umbrella is large and sturdy, and it has not had any structural damage or tears in 8 years of use in heavy rain and wind (southern US thunderstorms). The part that failed is the metal latch that keeps the umbrella shut - it eventually stopped springing back correctly, leading to the umbrella not closing completely or popping open spontaneously, which started to get annoying. This started around year 5 or 6 and gradually worsened. Despite this, I will still give 5 stars because no other umbrella has lasted more than 2 or 3 years in this weather.

Seems fine, but 48" measurement is misleading
I received this umbrella in the mail this morning and it seems fine - open action is quick and precise, it's firm but not overly resistant to closing, and it's generally pleasant to look at. I have no doubt that it meets with any reasonable definition of a functioning umbrella. My only complaint is that I am disappointed in how much of me is actually covered by the canopy of the umbrella. The description states that it's 48 inches so, naturally, when I was browsing Amazon for umbrellas last week, I took out my tape measurer and measured out 48 inches on the floor. I stood in the middle of it. Seemed fine. Clicked the order button. When it arrived this morning, however, I opened it up and stood underneath it, and was surprised at how little distance there was between me and the would-be rain. I measured its breadth - 42 inches at its widest point. I quickly realized that the 48-inch figure was derived from measuring the umbrella when it was *closed*. This is bothersome for two reasons, one of which is theoretical and the other practical. First, the utility of an umbrella (i.e. keeping its owner dry) is largely unrelated to its length when closed. That has some bearing on the annoyance of carrying it around, yes, but it doesn't go to the main purpose of owning and using an umbrella (i.e. to stay dry). For that reason, it seems misleading to market an umbrella based on figures that bear little relation to its usefulness with no accompanying description explaining what that measurement is literally measuring. It naturally leads to reasonable mistakes, such as I have made. Second, the practical effect of an umbrella being six inches smaller than advertised is that a buyer is going to get three inches more water than he or she bargained for on either side. The cheap folding umbrella that I bought this to replace had a similar issue - when I walked, the front half of my shoes would get wet. By the end of a 10-minute walk to the subway, the rain has soaked through. My new umbrella will alleviate that problem only part of the way, and I will still have to take smaller steps than I take in my natural stride. TL;DR - The umbrella is 42 inches across when open, not 48, and I should have exercised the nuclear option and bought a golf umbrella. But, owing to laziness, I'll just be keeping this one.

Surprisingly good quality and build
The build quality is surprisingly nice, it seems like it provides good sun protection and definitely more wind resistance than a small baby umbrella, since the arms of the umbrella have strong springs in them. I would probably be concerned about long term use of the wooden handle going up and down the shaft of the umbrella, but I just received it so we’ll see. It is very easy to use with one click of a button to open the umbrella, the people that complain about the umbrella being hard to close are just being weak because it’s really easy to close. The weight of the umbrella isn’t that heavy at all but obviously it’s a larger umbrella so it’s not easily transportable like a mini umbrella but it looks very classy and can easily fit two people (me and my girlfriend who are about 110lbs and I am 140lbs) and we could probably fit our backpacks too and not get wet from the rain.

Big and strong, manly and stylish cane-umbrella!
Classical "gentleman" design with the wooden handle, I bought it for two big reasons, first of all I needed a umbrella and because my grandpa used to have a similar umbrella and I like the style of this umbrella/walking cane. Very practical and sturdy, time will tell the durability but I'll cherish and take care of mine the best I can! Happy with my purchase and highly recommend this brand to everyone, thank you Totes/Amazon.

Classy and durable -- a winning combination
I just received this product after eagerly awaiting it's delivery (umbrellas are a must in a rainy climate), and I'm thoroughly impressed. A nice umbrella can add a touch of class to any outfit, and this may be the most handsome umbrella I have ever owned. The umbrella has great heft -- it's substantial enough not to feel "frail" at all, without being heavy or burdensome in any way. The dark wooden handle is nicely accented by a subtle metal plaque affixed to it that says "totes". The wood extends to cover the entire shaft of the umbrella, including the tip, which is nicely finished with a few more metal accents that prevent damage when resting this umbrella on the ground. The button to automatically open this the umbrella is larger than other umbrellas I've used -- a nice feature -- but it is plastic, though coated to look like metal. The part that you place your hand on to slide the umbrella closed is also more hefty and durable-feeling than most umbrellas I have encountered. The canopy opens pretty wide, and can certainly accommodate both me and my wife. Overall, out of the box this umbrella looks better and seems stronger and more durable than any umbrella I've used before. It's certainly worth the money to pay for this beautiful model rather than going with the much less classy and less durable umbrellas sold in rite-aid, safeway, walgreens or other stores.

Good umbrella, but double check the size you need/want.
A little smaller than I expected, but looks good and works well so far. Nice to walk and tap it on the ground.

Bonne qualité
Très beau parapluie qui semble de qualité Pas eu la chance de l’utiliser encore Avec un long manche qui semble solide aussi. Reste à voir s’il tient le coup au vent.
