eSUN PLA Filament 1.75mm 1KG(2.2LBS), 3D Printer Filament PLA, Blue

I've had great experiences with eSUN filaments in the past, and this red PLA is another winner. This is a brilliant, reliable filament that delivers fantastic results. First off, the colour is superb. It's a deep, vibrant, and incredibly consistent red that looks absolutely stunning on finished prints. There's no variation in the pigment, and it has a high-quality, smooth finish. I've attached a photo of a multi-part character model I recently printed (the red parts, of course) which really shows off how clean and bright the colour is. Performance-wise, it has been flawless. It adheres perfectly to my build plate (PEI sheet) and the layer adhesion is excellent, creating strong, durable parts. I've run several prints with this spool and haven't had a single clog, jam, or extrusion issue. The dimensional accuracy is advertised at +/- 0.03mm, and my experience confirms it's spot-on, which no doubt contributes to the clean and trouble-free printing. The 1KG cardboard spool is wound neatly, as I've come to expect from eSUN, and it feeds perfectly into the printer without any tangles. If you're looking for a high-quality, reliable red PLA that you can trust to produce great-looking, strong prints, this is an easy recommendation. It's a fantastic filament for the price.

I’ve been using eSUN’s Yellow PLA, and wow, this color is bright! It’s a perfect, bold yellow that really pops in my prints. Whether I’m printing intricate designs or large pieces, the color stays vibrant and consistent. If you need a filament that screams sunshine, this is it. As always with PLA, moisture can be its downfall—keep it stored with desiccants to avoid any issues like stringing or brittle prints. The dimensional accuracy is fantastic, and the layer adhesion is great once you dial in the settings, though you might need to tweak your bed for optimal results. Overall, eSUN Yellow PLA is affordable, reliable, and provides eye-catching, vibrant prints. If you want something that stands out and performs well, this yellow filament is the way to go. Just keep it dry, and you’re golden (well, yellow)! 💛

I did my first print this morning, and my first impressions are very favourable. On my ancient CR10 I used 210c hot end, 60c bed, and got a really nice result with 'fine' settings (Cura) 0.12mm layer height. Ran the fan 100% from the third layer up. The print is solid and clean, strong and well fused. Yet it came off the bed easily (after I let it cool.) I have stored the new roll in a zip plastic bag with dessicant - I suppose only time will tell if this is enough to keep the filament dry, and if it remains dry enough to make good prints. But after this very small trial I am very happy with the quality and value.

The purple colour is lovely and the filament itself prints well, with smooth, consistent results and no issues feeding through the printer. It’s reliable enough for general use and gives a nice finish on most prints. The only drawback is the cardboard spool. It bends a bit too easily and doesn’t hold its shape as well as a plastic one, which can be irritating during longer prints. Other than that, it’s a decent PLA and works well for everyday projects.

The photo is of 3 benchy models. Grey and yellow are eSun PLA Lite. Green is Bambu PLA Basic. As you can see, they are all very good, but the lite was significantly cheaper. However, this wasn't without initial issues. To make this stuff work, do the following. 1. Go to the eSun website and download the premade filament and process files for your printer. 2. You must then properly calibrate and update the filament profile from step 1 for PLA Lite. I'm using a Bambu X1C and my first prints were a mess. To calibrate, I use Orca slicer with a pattern test and flow rate test (2nd pass), and it's now perfect. I can just use this profile for any of the PLA Lite colours.

Great filament and amazing colour

I have been 3D printing for many years now, but this is the first time I have used eSun and their "ePLA-Lite". This filament is terrible and not fit for purpose. Do not buy this looking to save money because it will end up costing you more. I just had to get that up front in case people don't read the rest of this review. The main issue is the winding. The outer layers seem neat and tidy but after the first ~200g the remainder of the reel was a tangled mess so knotted that neither I nor the extruder could pull the filament off the spool. After cutting and freeing it 6 times across the course of 4 hours I just gave up and wrote off the print along with the wasted filament. This reel has been loaded and kept under tension from new, so there is no chance this tangle is from user error. See the images for an example. On top of this, possibly as a result of the poor winding, the filament is full of kinks, bends, and stress marks. This is 'Cool White' so the fact I can see the stress lines on the surface (not pictured) should tell you how bad they are. This entire reel is a write off and I am gutted I ordered another 4 spools from eSun before finding this issue. I hope this is a one off and others aren't suffering the same issues but I won’t be buying any more to find out because it's just not worth the risk. I shall be returning the ones I have on order as soon as they arrive and moving back to my old supplier.

Das Filament kam sauber aufgewickelt an und ließ sich ohne Probleme direkt verwenden. Die rote Farbe wirkt kräftig und gleichmäßig, wodurch die fertigen Drucke sehr hochwertig aussehen. Während des Druckens gab es weder Verstopfungen noch übermäßiges Stringing. Die Layer haften hervorragend und auch größere Modelle gelingen problemlos. Preis und Qualität passen hier wirklich sehr gut zusammen. Für PLA-Drucke eine klare Empfehlung.

Dopo aver utilizzato diversi tipi di filamenti per le mie sessioni di stampa 3D (ho una Bambu lab p1s), ho deciso di provare il filamento PLA di eSUN da 1,75 mm di colore bianco. Il filamento PLA di eSUN si distingue per diverse qualità, ma la più evidente è la sua consistenza nella stampa. Durante l'uso, ho notato che il filamento fluisce molto bene, con una ridotta incidenza di intasamenti o di problemi di alimentazione che spesso si verificano con altri filamenti meno costosi. Questo ha reso l'intero processo di stampa più fluido e meno frustrante, soprattutto durante stampe lunghe o complesse. Un aspetto che mi ha particolarmente colpito è la finitura del prodotto stampato. Il colore bianco è pulito e uniforme, il che è essenziale per progetti che richiedono una superficie liscia e un colore coerente, senza macchie o discromie. Inoltre, il PLA di eSUN mostra un'eccellente adesione tra gli strati, risultando in oggetti stampati molto resistenti e duraturi. La facilità di utilizzo di questo filamento è un altro punto di forza. Non richiede una piattaforma di stampa riscaldata, che è un grande vantaggio per chi possiede stampanti 3D meno avanzate o cerca di minimizzare il consumo energetico. Inoltre, il PLA è noto per essere un materiale più ecologico rispetto ad altri filamenti sintetici, e utilizzarlo mi dà una certa tranquillità sapendo che sto scegliendo un'opzione più sostenibile. Per quanto riguarda il rapporto qualità-prezzo, il filamento eSUN PLA offre un eccellente valore. Nonostante sia leggermente più costoso rispetto ad alcuni concorrenti, la qualità superiore del prodotto giustifica pienamente il prezzo. È un investimento che consiglio a chi cerca risultati professionali dalla propria stampante 3D. Consiglio vivamente questo filamento a chiunque sia interessato a migliorare la qualità delle proprie stampe senza compromessi.
