Effective Odor Control with a Subtle Scent for Cat Litter Boxes
I purchased the Arm & Hammer Pets Cat Litter Box Deodorizing Pods (2 Pods, Fresh Breeze Scent) about a month ago to tackle odors in my cat’s litter box area. As a cat owner with a single 10-pound tabby, I needed a simple, effective solution to keep my home smelling fresh, especially since the litter box is in a small laundry room. After using both pods over the past few weeks, here’s my detailed take on their performance, including pros, cons, and tips for other pet owners. How I Used ItI attached one pod to the inside wall of my jumbo litter box (22 x 17 inches) using the adhesive backing, as directed. The box uses clumping clay litter, and my cat uses it 2-3 times daily. I scoop daily and change the litter weekly. The pod is designed to release a Fresh Breeze scent for up to 30 days, so I’ve tested it in both the initial high-odor days after setup and over longer periods to assess longevity. The second pod is still unused, stored in its packaging for the next cycle.ProsEffective Odor Neutralization: Powered by Arm & Hammer’s baking soda, the pod significantly reduces litter box odors. My laundry room smells noticeably fresher, even after my cat’s daily visits. It’s not a complete odor eliminator, but it keeps things under control alongside regular scooping.Easy to Install: The adhesive backing sticks securely to the plastic wall of my litter box. It took seconds to apply, and it hasn’t budged despite my cat’s scratching nearby. The paw-shaped design is cute and discreet.Long-Lasting: Each pod is advertised to last 30 days, and I’m at day 25 with the first pod still working well. The scent is weaker now but still noticeable when I’m near the box. This aligns with the 30-day claim, making it a reliable option.Subtle Scent: The Fresh Breeze scent is light and clean, like a mild laundry-fresh aroma. It doesn’t overwhelm the room or bother my cat, who’s sensitive to strong fragrances.Compact and Versatile: The pods are small (about 2 inches wide) and can stick to any surface—litter box, wall, or nearby furniture—making them ideal for various setups, including hooded or open boxes.ConsAdhesive Could Be Stronger: While the adhesive held up in my case, some reviews mention it detaching in humid or dusty environments. My laundry room is dry, but I’d be cautious in a bathroom or basement setup.Scent Weakens Over Time: The Fresh Breeze scent is strongest in the first two weeks but fades noticeably by week three. It still helps with odors, but don’t expect a powerful fragrance for the full 30 days.Limited Coverage for Multi-Cat Homes: With one cat, the pod works well, but I suspect multi-cat households might need multiple pods or a stronger deodorizer (like Arm & Hammer’s powder or spray) for heavier odor loads.Price Per Pod: At roughly $3-$4 per pod (based on the 2-pack price), it’s a bit pricier than sprinkling Arm & Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer Powder, which lasts longer for the cost. It’s a trade-off for convenience.ComparisonsCompared to the Arm & Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer Powder I’ve used before, the pods are more convenient—no sprinkling or measuring—but the powder is more cost-effective and better for heavy odors in multi-cat setups. Against Fresh Step Deodorizing Pods, the Arm & Hammer pods have a milder scent, which I prefer, but some users report Fresh Step’s adhesive is stronger. If you’re considering the Arm & Hammer Purrifying Pak (a hanging deodorizer), the pods are better for hooded boxes since they stick inside, while the Pak is suited for open boxes with a rim.Tips for BuyersPlacement Matters: Stick the pod high on the litter box wall to avoid litter dust covering it, which can reduce effectiveness. For hooded boxes, place it near the top inside for better airflow.Combine with Scooping: The pods work best with daily scooping and quality clumping litter. I pair mine with Arm & Hammer litter for extra odor control.Test for Cat Sensitivity: My cat had no issues, but if your cat is finicky, monitor their litter box habits for a day or two after installing to ensure the scent doesn’t deter them.Maximize Longevity: Store the unused pod in its original packaging in a cool, dry place to preserve the scent. Avoid humid storage to prevent adhesive issues.Who Should Buy This? These Arm & Hammer Deodorizing Pods are ideal for single-cat households or small spaces where you want a low-maintenance, discreet odor solution. They’re perfect if you prefer a mild scent and easy setup over powders or sprays. For multi-cat homes or heavy odors, you might need to supplement with other deodorizers or more frequent litter changes.Overall, I’m happy with these pods for keeping my litter box area fresh and plan to use the second pod next month. They’re a solid addition to my cat care routine, especially for the convenience. If you’ve tried these or have other odor control tricks, share in the comments—I’d love to hear what works for you!

Deodorizer
The smell is nice. But it's not a strong scent. Barely smell it if it's not up to your nose

Surprisingly Effective
I honestly did not expect these to work hardly at all, but was happily surprised when they actually did. They are easy to put somewhere discrete.

Do not recommend
I really wanted these deodorizer pods to work, but they didn't live up to my expectations. The adhesive wasn't strong enough to keep the pod attached to the litter box, and it fell into the litter after a short time. My cat ended up burying it, which made it messy to retrieve.I also didn't notice any improvement in odor. Even with the pod in place, it didn't seem to deodorize the litter box or keep the area smelling fresher. The idea is great, but the weak adhesive and lack of odor control make these hard to recommend.

Nice little small space deodorizer
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this Arm & Hammer Litter Box Small Spaces deodorizer works! It helps keep litter box odors under control without being overpowering, and the scent is fresh and pleasant. It's perfect for smaller spaces where odors can build up quickly, and I noticed a difference shortly after putting it near the litter box. It's easy to use, lasts a long time, and helps keep the area smelling much cleaner. Definitely a great product for cat owners!

Disappointing Product
Only reason I give it any stars is due to the name brand and cute shape of the product. Arm & Hammer is usually a great brand with great products. Sadly, this does not live up to their reputation. We cleaned the litterboxes and put this product on them and there is no difference a day later. It’s as if we didn’t put anything on them. Wasted money. Wouldn’t buy them again.

Good smell and the cats love it
The cats didn’t like to use the litter in the furniture as much and when I put these they started using the litter in there as much as the others
