These ones actually work - another family member bought some cheaper ones on eBay, but they don't work at all! If you want a decent product, you usually have to pay that bit extra so you avoid having to chuck it straight in the recycling bin!

Very few devices use D-size batteries these days. They are expensive, and even more so if they are rechargeable. I only use rechargeable batteries now and, apart from my old Maglite torch, everything that requires batteries uses either AA or AAA size cells. It seemed logical to get these adaptors for my Maglite to allow me to use AA cells in a torch that takes D-cells. I have also replaced the bulb to an LED equivalent and now the torch lasts longer on AA cells then it ever did on the old D-cells and an incandescent bulb. I have been using these adaptors for over two years and they are absolutely brilliant.I would definitely recommend these adaptors. There are cheaper alternatives, but with constant use, they had better be made well. These have not disappointed in over two years of use.

Fantastic design that saves on household clutter, since you never need to buy any more C cells and/or big C cell rechargers! I love the modular design that means I can now use AA rechargeables for everything!

These work well, and feel a quality product. No problem with contacts or fit. Ok for temporary use. The problem with them is you are limited to the capacity of the AA battery inside, even allowing for some decent high capacity cells you are only going to get 2800mah. This is against around 10000mah for a set of Rechargeable D cells.There is usually a reason that a product requires D cell batteries and that’s because it needs lots of power. For temporary use or low intermittent power applications they are fine. I tried these in a Hot Wheels track set, the motors use huge amounts of power and once the power dips the cars soon slow down, so even using high capacity AA cells I was constantly changing batteries.Great idea but I should have put the money I spent on these towards some rechargeable D cell batteries.

An ingenious, well made and easy to use adapter means there is no longer a need to buy C-type rechargeable and a charger capable of accommodating the 'C' size.

These work perfectly in my PetSafe 5 pet feeder. A very good design. It's convenient not having to buy different sized batteries and there doesn't seem to be any lack of power using AA size, as the voltages are the same as D size.

Its okay.

AA's fit well inside making a good connection.The opening mechanism is solid, easy to open and fits snugly when closed ensuring no rattles.
