The C9 was a great choice
The C9 makes an exceptional cup of coffee/espresso, etc. It did take a little time and trial to figure out the settings and options, but it was well worth it. The program feature is great so that my husband can just push the button for his taste and I can easily adjust mine to my liking by turning the dial. It's great that the machine prompts you to rinse, fill beans, fill water, empty coffee grounds. Super easy to clean. The layer of crema the machine produces is great. The froth and foaming feature is comparable to an industrial maker. I was concerned it would be too large, but it fits perfectly on the counter. My husband said today, "The only thing I don't like about the machine is that I might drink too much coffee because it is so easy to make a cup." I highly recommend this machine for any coffee lover.

Fail.
The product received is NOT the same as the picture. The pictured C9 clearly has a steel/chrome frothing selector knob and an adjustable intake on top. The product I received has a cheap clear plastic selector and no adjustable intake. Additionally, the advertised C9 is made in Switzerland (shown in the picture), where as mine is not. Made in Portugal. Avoid if you're looking for truth in advertising, solid appearance and "Wow" factor. No idea if this machine makes good coffee, but it appears as if they are trying to compete with Krupps by introducing as much cheap plastic as possible.

Not IMPRESS(a)ive
Update:It is leaking pressure now. When I press the espresso button, (or any high pressure function), you can hear the sound of pressure leaking from somewhere. As a result, I don't get foamy espressos that I used to get with the same bean and same settings.Original:Not impressed with the quality of coffee. I am a coffee drinker and a French presser. With a $20 aeropress press, I can make a much better coffee (or even a espresso with not much foam) compared to this expensive machine. However, I did not want to go and use the sink every time I use my press at work. So I decided to buy this instead. The taste is not that good. And I noticed a few design flaws that are probably common with all of these machines:1. The coffee container is not sealed. Your coffee will dry out and lose its aroma in a day or two (unless you refill it with a small amounts daily)2. WHO DESIGNED THESE? DO YOU EVEN COFFEE? the coffee container gets hot!!!! like really? Coffee beans should not stay in a really warm place or they lose their aroma3. The milk frother is not good. First, it squirts like 2oz of water at first and then the foam is not good. I can use a none steam hand frother that works better than that4. Also, the froth is cold (I am fine with it but I was expecting a machine to do a warm froth for me)5. It uses so much water for cleaning. I fill my tank with distilled water. It wastes so much of it.6. I wish you could get coffee out of it (meaning that like a drip coffee. Like you could let the coffee sit in water then squirts it out so that more caffeine is released and also better coffee smooth taste)7. It is loud. So I was hoping to replace my manual grinder + aeropress with a machine to reduce my noise as well. But this is loud. All of my colleagues will hear it when it makes the froth. It's like someone throwing up loud. Haha. and it squirts water everywhere like that episode of south park on people dying and defecating. hahafor now, I will not return it, but I might.

Good But Disappointed also
we've had an S9 Jura for over 7 years and made over 6,000 coffees with it. It was a trooper and fantastic but sadly died on us so we wanted a replacement. I checked the specs for the S9 and C9 and seemed they were pretty much the same so for the price difference it felt living with a black and slimmer model with slightly less horsepower was a sensible trade-off.The good;1. Quiet2. Small3. Makes a nice cup of coffee (if administered well)4. Button layout and customization is way easier than the old S9The Bad1. Black is not as attractive as the silver and also shows marks easier2. Water filters are different sizes to the S9 (had a stock so that's a little annoying)3. All the essentials feel twice as small as the S9 and a pain.. the milk container cannot even support two Lattes, the water container is too small and the coffee store is also.4. The One-Touch button makes for a warm and hot coffee so is also a pointless feature IMO.5. Fixed steam spout so with large cups it will be a pain to remove them without spillingWhen we made a coffee with the S9 and new with the C9 we put the coffee in first, fill the milk and 3/4 up we switch to steam and give it a blast for the heat. This on either machine makes a fabulous coffee but negates the value of the one-touch.If I were doing this again, I'd go for either a cheaper model knowing the one-touch is pointless and if budget is the concern OR I'd sucked it in and gone for the S9 for the added capacity.. For me I wish I'd chosen the S9 as the capacity thing will probably grind on me more than anything else.. but the above will give you an idea of variances. All this said, I LOVE Jura, for the years we've had them, they're reliable, provide great service and well worth the investment. I'll begrudgingly live with the C9 knowing I made the wrong choice,.. Hope this helps your decision process..

A really good start to the day
The unit is easy to setup initially, the DVD is very helpful. The creama on the expresso is really good. Milk container is easy to use and to clean. I would have given it five stars if the expresso were a little hotter and if the boiler was little larger,so it did not have to heat so often. My husband and I are really happy with our purchase, the learning curve was really quick to a delicious cup of cappuccino or a latte.
