Good easy to read watch
As a commercial Diver for over 20 years .I have owned lots of work and fancy watches....this is no frills does what it needs watch that's almost bulletproof..The cost of this is cheaper than the service of my other watches and built stronger ..I bought my daughter the lady watch years ago ...she loves hers ...all in all ...if you want a good reliable easy to use watch for diving ...this is the one to buy !!

Better than you think.
I have seen these a few times over the years. They are sold under many different names, Tauchmiester being the most well known. It's a bit of a mystery as to who actually makes them but I would guess they come from China. Anyway, the Apeks name cropped up the other day while I was looking for another watch so after a bit of research I bought one direct from a dive store.These have cult following and are solid watches for the price and there's nothing to really complain about. Looks a little like an industrial version of the Seiko tuna but at a third of the price. They have a Seiko VX 42 quartz movement which is reliable if a little cheap. Strap is comfortable for a rubber type but a little long as it's designed to go over a wetsuit. I changed it for a super engineer style which is a common upgrade. Lume is initially very bright but dims, however it lasts through the night. The claim of 500m is a bit bold. There is no data to back that up and how many of us are going down 3300 feet to prove it? Having said that, they are sold in dive shops and there are numerous references on dive forums of people actually using them for their intended purpose including one guy who took his down to 130 metres.All in all a very nice watch especially if you get one at the right price.
