Godox FW120CM

I LOVE THIS SOFTBOX! The Quality is outstanding and 100% worth the investment when you pair it with the correct equipment . I use it with the Tt600 Godox flash and Godox X2t S trigger. The softbox itself is a bit difficult to assemble at first, and it’s tough to travel with until you get the hang of it or have an extra person to help. It comes with a travel bag for carrying. The other photographers I know have kept it set up in their studio, and it produces great photos once you learn your way around the lighting techniques. Also be sure to buy a sturdy stand for it! I would absolutely recommend this setup.

50 years in photography, 30 year studio owner. I've owned and used all kinds of gear. Mostly high end pro level stuff. Sold it all when I retired. Needed a light and softbox to shoot birds. (hobby). Ordered this box which was about 1/10th the cost of my last box (Larson 4x6 = over 700.00). I am AMAZED at the quality of this unit. I had it together pretty easily in 10 minutes. (no instructions) but I never looked for them. The materials it's made of are wonderful. Stiffer and thicker than the materials of lore. Very impressed and using it with a AD200 pro II - which also amazes me. My last light units were white lightning and cost in the area of 1600.00 each. NEW TO GODOX and really impressed. Also bought the X3. Great features! Wish I had these when I was in the business 16 years ago.

This thing is HUGE! I love it. The installation may seem complicated at first but the mount is numbered (for the new users on the block) When looking at you round metal mount, start with number 1 then set number two, then three. You will have a setting for 1|2 meaning you can use the hole as a 1 or a 2. Once you get it set, take a permanent marker and mark the holes you actually used. You may end up using a blank/unmarked hole. Just remember to mark it so it will be easier next time you set it up for a shoot.

This is one of the worst designed pieces of production equipment I have ever encountered. It is almost impossible to assemble or disassemble for that matter. Upon assembly one of the rods pierced through the pocket it is supposed to fit in. Terrible terrible product!

These are fantastic at softening the light and preventing spill on the back walls. They feel bigger than what you might think. I got the 120cm ones also but they were too big for my space. Keep that in mind when sizing. Unless you have a deep shot, these are perfect for 3’-6’ away from person positioning. The bigger ones didn’t clear my camera shot. Tip, start the rods like a cross into the bowels mount then the shroud, then place the other rods in or you will fight them if you place all of them in the mount first. Also, if you slide the tip of a Phillips head screw driver into the stitched slot on the shroud it kind of opens them up a bit and makes it easier to slide the rod in. The rods are very strong, it might feel like you’ll break them when bending to get them to fit but they will not. Great build quality.

I have and use a similar product to this for location portraiture, but needed another and wanted to try the more parabolic focus of this one. I also opted for the "H" designation as I would like to use my Lowel heads in it for video ( no price difference, so why not?) The other reviewers spoke about the difficulty in assembly, but I shook them off the other box in my kit (it's an Octabank, but looks similar) is a little more difficult than some to build on location. Be advised, this HexaBox IS quite a bit more fiddly to build....but the speedring is clearly marked as to the sequence you need to follow to build this thing-you should follow the marks for ANY hope of building this in a timely manner! I have shot just a few tests with this product and the light is what I expected; way more directional than a standard softbox, while still being pretty diffused ( there are two layers of diffusion and that's good!). I would put this unit between a beauty dish and a more traditional four sided softbox.....right where I wanted it....Build quality isn't ProFoto, but I am careful with my gear and don't expect any issues, even with my travel ( I'm looking at you, Delta!). I will be getting the one-notch-smaller version of this from the same manufacturer, GoDox soon, too, but I will be trying not to break a sweat in front of the client as I build this sucker. Last caveat is the Bowens mount speed ring....who uses Bowens mount?! couldn't find the Buff/Balcar ring...so I am having to adapt one of my other rings to it. TL;DR : parabolic shape is good, build quality good enough, hard-ish to build, great value! This soft box is a really good size and versatile for a lot of different scenarios. Have used this for several head shots and highly recommend

I wouldn't want to have to break this softbox down and set it up again on a regular basis. It's not hard to assemble (no instructions were provided) but I don't consider it fast or easy. I keep my assembled.

Excelente producto, sin duda alguna es un producto que te vendrá de maravilla si tienes un estudio de fotografía, me ha servido para fotografía de e-commerce, fotografía editorial y fotografía de alimentos, el material es muy bueno y por ende muy resistente. El tamaño es perfecto, solo ten en cuenta que si planeas usar este softbox como tu modificador de luz principal, puede que tengas problemas para transportarlo y no en todos los lugares puede manejarse fácilmente por su tamaño. de ahí en más todo perfecto, llego en tiempo y en forma. el armado fue algo tedioso porque fue la primera vez que pedia un modificador pero es cuestion de hacerlo sin miedo y con fuerza :)

The hardware is very excellent serves the purpose. Needs one use manual. Amazon package was open and was drenched in oil. But thanks Retailers good packaging contents were not damaged. Feel of material reflects the quality. And light diffusion is excellent

Godox acquired Bowens following Bowens went into receivership Bowens was a photographic lighting company that was founded in London in 1923 and following their closure it was acquired in 2016 by European investment company AURELIUS and manufactured by Godox. I have owned Bowens lighting for over 20 years and can say their quality was superior. That being said, I am please that Godox is quality, while keeping the Bowens mount as a standard for their various softbox models...
