It when traveling by whatever method it is always worth being able to record what happens
This will be useful if someone tries to knock you down or stop you for whatever reason as I will have a recording of the person that I can use as evidence? or just a recording of where recording of where I went on any day?

The video quality is excellent. However mine refused to work straight out of the box, a firmware upgrade was required but for some reason it kept disconnecting from my pc when I tried to do it. Had to remove the memory card and do it via a card reader. Then it kept locking up and had sound issues. Contacted drift who sent me another one. This one also locked up a few times. I was having problems with the power lead when I tried to power it via an external battery for long journeys. Had to buy the drift splitter lead so that it wouldn't get pulled out all the time. The remote thing in the box is useless if you need to wear it over a jacket sleeve. Mine still doesn't have functional sound via an external Mic or put a date stamp on the footage and drift will no longer respond to any messages from me in any way. Their solution for excessive wind noise is to tell me to put tape over the Mic. I think if I've paid £300 for a camera that's going to be used on a bike and their advert has a bike in it then they should make sure they put their own bit of tape on inside it before selling it.

A very capable action camera
Overall a great camera so far, I hope it lasts. My originally bought Drift set as ordered on Amazon was different to what I received since the seller sent me a message they only had the motorbike set which included more items but was £25 more. The extra items were LCD screen, some more mounts and cables, etc. I was happy to pay the requested so went ahead and received it shortly. The camera is what the manufacturer claims it to be. I don't have the older models so couldn't compare, still it delivers good quality video, the integrated mics are sensitive enough and the build quality looks solid. I have had some trouble with the Drift app kind of freezing in terms of connection to the camera, i.e. they are connected but I receive no picture or am able to scroll through the settings on the phone. I need to disconnect the camera, connect it again and it would work again. However, in order to be able to connect to the app again, I need to forget the camera's wifi on the phone, type in the password, then go through the Drift app's UI connecting procedures and this is every time. Sometimes it works for longer, sometimes for shorter period, however this is the preferred for me way to adjust the camera settings compared to going through the torture of pressing the camera buttons watching the very tiny screen on the back. The LCD screen as a module is useless to me. It is great on its own but it shows very little information and constantly locks itself, also I so far didn't really get how on certain occasions I get the settings appearing and how on others, not. You need to keep pressing hoping it will show them. But the biggest disappointment of the screen as a module is the extremely poor battery life the camera gets if you have it attached. Apparently there is some very small integrated battery that is powering the whole device when this module is on but it is very poor so you can expect up to 20 minutes device-on time, at least in my case. I was therefore very disappointed and even thought I've got a defective unit. The modules are very hard to remove, so hard that the plastic module deforms from the effort. I ended using a soft cloth attached to a screwdriver so I can press it softly enough, still be able to exert sufficient effort. There is no way, at least on my unit, to remove a module using your nails whatsoever. You need a tool.In the end I bought the bigger after-market 1500mAh battery, tested on a full charge only once so far. I am happy to report it let me record in 2.7K at 60FPS for about an hour and it still had 3 LEDs power back in the module (or about 75%) which talks of a great battery life. I am yet to test the included 500mAh battery module but I suppose it will give it about twice less.Something worth mentioning is that initially the Exposure was set to minus 2 which led to very dark images. When I started playing with the Settings to fix it, I tried different modes on just about everything and found that Exposure of 0 (zero) gives good results. I am yet to test the Low Light mode, however I am currently happy with the ISO (Auto) and Exposure (Zero) settings, even in low light conditions. It is hard to say yet but I am not sure if one can really change the FOV (field of view) to lower than 140 degrees. I keep the setting at 115 as I hate the fish-eye effect and this is what is shown on the Drift app, still the smaller camera back screen shows it as 140 and I have the feeling that no matter what it stays at 140 while the manual states you can change the FOV at all resolutions.Considering all of the above and all problems/hassle you encounter in your day-to-day use, I still think the Drift 4K camera is one of the best, if not the best action camera at the moment to buy (I am not part of the GoPro herd, nor ever cared of anything different to pure end customer experience based on product's individual specifications). The rotating lens alone together with the camera's streamlined design make this product stand out by a lot. The rotating lens will let you use any compatible mounts in any orientation/position while the aerodynamic shape will let you use it on any helmet and at high velocity. The recording quality is good to great, the auto-focus does a pretty good job, colours are nice and mostly true to life, there are many settings that will allow you to customise, battery life is relatively good and with the 1500mAh battery - great. Please note, Ghost 4K can get pretty hot in operation, like really hot. When I was testing it initially and going through various settings, it would literally burn my hands out! I suppose it is designed to be used outside only, in traffic and in conditions where it can naturally cool down. So far no problems like restarting, including in recordings of more than 10 minutes, but I hope the camera can cope in direct sunlight and in the summer too, especially in higher resolutions.

Currently riddled with problems
I purchased this product and had a number of issues. I did read in a couple of places that there were major issues on release but a firmware update had been released since and it was 'fixed'. I bought this device over others because I liked the design and sleekness.Problems... I fully charged the device (which took about 2 hours) and went for a ride, only to find nothing had been recorded apart from the first 5 minutes of my ride. I tried lots of different things to get continuous recording working, to no avail. I then thought I needed to use 'Car DVR' mode but this just made the camera record the first interval time then it went back to idle. Finally I tried their 'tagging' feature (which allows you to click the camera and it will store the last 1 minutes and future minute to capture 'moments' if you don't want to fill your SD card) but this rarely worked and is not ideal if you are involved in a crash were you can't click the device. On one journey I clicked it about 15 times - which was hard as the buttons are not easy to navigate with gloves on. But annoyed to find only 3 were stored of which none would play.Apart from the above, the camera constantly crashed, no buttons would move it through the menus and had to use the hard reset a couple of times. Despite all effort, I finally had to pass it up as a bad job because it just wasn't working.*IF* they sorted these issues, it would be a great little product but I can't risk footage not being recorded when I expect it to be. I have issued a return and am now going to purchase the GoPro Hero 5 Session which was my second choice.

Plagued by bugs
My Ghost 4K replaces a Garmin Virb Elite, lost on parachute opening because it did not have a tripod mount. This is where the Ghost 4K scores: I'm not likely to lose it.I'm beginning to regret that. The Ghost 4K is plagued by bugs:- It's extremely fussy where it takes a charge. More often than not, plugging it in to charge cycles it into recording but not charging. It does charge from newer USB ports, but not always.- Wifi connnection is unreliable, sometimes rejecting the default password.- The options on the app are not identical to those on the camera, which is too fiddly and difficult to read.Physically, it's a good camera with great footage but it needs a bigger battery. I miss the Garmin's clunky record switch, which meant you knew it was on by touch.I would not buy this camera again. I'm left hoping Drift fix the software and release a bigger battery

Fatal

VERAMENTE NEGATIVO!
