A hub is not a dock. This is a very good USB-C hub
Does what a hub ought to do - which is to say, you can plug it into one USB-C port and it will make power and data connectivity available to four downstream USB-C devices. The big caveats are that the host cable is extremely short and the power made available to downstream devices is significantly reduced from what the host provides. It's still a five star device because these short cables are universally present on all USB-C hubs, and the power limitations are less severe than other similar products that I have tested. Most importantly, the data connectivity offered by this unit is excellent, and it's extremely portable, being barely larger than the connectors it contains. I would still very much prefer a version of this device with a USB-C female connector on the back instead of the permanently attached short cable but apparently there are valid technical reasons that USB-C hubs are not made in this way. Devices that offer more power and better cabling options are now classified as docks rather than hubs, they tend to be based on Thunderbolt rather than plain old USB-C, and some of these docks are quite excellent, but they are comparatively very expensive. This particular device is just a hub, it is very affordable compared to a dock, and it's as good as USB-C hubs get.

Belkin's USB-C Hub: A Reliable Winner!
Okay, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to my tech accessories, but Belkin almost always nails it. I've been a loyal customer for years, and their hubs and transfer wires are consistently top-notch. This Belkin Connect 4 Port USB C Hub definitely keeps that streak going, it never lets me down. You get four USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, each ready for ultra high-speed data transfers up to 10Gbps, which is fantastic for my external SSDs and other peripherals. It's super handy for connecting all my gear, from cameras to a keyboard, and I've had zero issues with performance. The pass-through charging up to 100W is also a lifesaver, keeping my laptop juiced up while I use the hub. Plus, the compact design and durable build mean I can toss it in my bag without a second thought. Belkin truly understands what users need in a reliable multi-port adapter.

Fine product
Good product something of a learning curve for a non technical user but in the end a solid product Do you know what an upstream port is? Do you now what a downstream port is. It's not hard to learn about it But I needed to consult ChatGPT To be able to use this hub effectively

Be aware of bad units being sold right now.
DO NOT BUY THIS!! These USED to be a 5 star product from me, I've lost count how many I have purchased and included built into my products I manufacture. All of 2025 NO ISSUES at all, battle tested in the photo event industry buy some very large companies I have as clients. Come 2026 and the last two batch orders I have purchased I have had to replace 10 of them within a 2 month window, all for different customers because they stopped working in a short amount of time. Something happened in the Belkin manufacturing of these hubs in the past 3 months and I have lost my confidence in the stock that is available right now, I have moved to another HUB manufacturer for my products. I even tried calling Belkin quietly to make them aware of this issue and could not get anyone who cared that they had bad units being sold. So now it's to be very public about this issue and to let people know to be aware there ARE bad units in circulation of these hubs. ALWAYS have a backup on hand just in case! Sorry Belkin, you need to have a better process to receive feedback from other manufacturers that use your products in theirs. I hope I can regain confidence again someday.

Compact Hub With Fast Reliable Performance
I am giving this USB C hub 4 stars because it is a well designed accessory that makes it much easier to connect multiple USB C devices without taking up much space. The compact size fits easily into a laptop bag, making it convenient for travel, work, or keeping at a desk. The four USB C ports are very useful for connecting accessories like external drives, webcams, audio devices, and other peripherals. File transfers have been fast and reliable, and I appreciate that each port supports high speed data transfer. The 100W pass through charging is another great feature because I can keep my laptop powered while still using the other ports without constantly swapping cables. I also like that it works with a variety of devices, including laptops, tablets, and desktops that support USB C. The build quality feels solid, and everything connects securely without feeling loose. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is important to know this hub is focused on USB C connectivity only. If you also need USB A, HDMI, or SD card slots, you will likely need an additional adapter. Depending on your setup, that may limit its versatility. Overall, this is a dependable and portable USB C hub that delivers fast performance and convenient charging. If your devices primarily use USB C, it is an excellent solution for expanding connectivity while keeping your workspace simple and organized.

Works in a Tesla
I own a 2020 Tesla 3 with a first generation cellphone charging system. This system will not charge the newer and larger cell phones like an iPhone 14 pro max with a case. Removing the case to charge the cellphone gets old. Tesla wants to charge an arm and a leg to update my current charging system, so I purchased this item. I disconnected the existing cellphone charging cord from my Tesla (Easy to do) and attached this multi port adapter from the car to a MagSafe wireless charger. Now my iPhone 14 pro max can be easily charged. Additionally, since this adapter has multiple ports, I was able to attach a second MagSafe wireless charging cord and simultaneously charge my husband’s iPhone 14 pro max (with case) while we are on long trips. The Tesla comes with a double charging system for 2 cellphones that sit next to each other and at a 45 degree angle. Attaching double sided tape to the back of the MagSafe onto the car’s charging system prevents the cord from sliding down. Very pleased and saved myself a ton of money

A Handy and Durable Multiport Dongle
Background: I have a Dell Precision laptop that has laughable 1 usb-c port (granted it is a circa 2020 machine). I wanted an expansion dongle that would have at least 3 ports. I usually prefer Anker products, but back then, none of the Anker products had only usb-c. There were other hard-to-name Chinesium brands which were similarly priced as this Belkin, so I decided to go with the Belkin, as I have used numerous Belkin products. Pros: Compact design and layout. The first port even has pass through current up to 100W to charge smaller devices. Easy to open packaging. Good "click" locking mechanism for the connections. No speed reduction when using multiple drives/storage devices. Con (More of an Improvement): I wished the upstream power cord was removable, which would make it easy to store and could use different lengths if needed. The current 12-inch one is not bad, but can cause issue to fold while carrying or storing. Bottomline: For $35 you can't go bad with a good brand that has been around. I will give it a 4.6/5.0.

Compatibility
I wanted this hub because I'm starting to experiment with videography on my iPhone 15 Pro, and the specs for data speed support and ability to support pass-through charging and other peripherals including a high-speed external drive made it seem ideal. And I'm sure it does all those things beautifully, but what it doesn't do is support charging of my iPhone..... which is a bit of a deal-breaker, really. Looking back, I see that the description doesn't actually mention support for iPhone 15 Pro, but iPad Pro and Mac compatibility (and support for supposedly universal USB-C devices) clearly doesn't include the iPhone. Very happy to accept that the reason for that is Apple and their outright stupid insistence on control of everything, but it doesn't really help me..... I've often bought Belkin accessories and peripherals and it's a brand I trust, so my "Value for money" and "Charging power" scores relate only to my immediate experience and inability to charge my iPhone. UPDATE 3 APR 2024: I've left all my ignorant waffle above in place in case any other users find the difficulty I had - and judging by the numbers who can't get their iPad to charge, there are several of us. I did uprate my "star" rating as the problem isn't Belkin and not even Apple, for a change :-) After some digging I found reference to a recommended power supply delivery of 100W, so phoned Belkin UK Support - and got straight through! Very helpful bloke took the details, looked up the specs, and confirmed that the MINIMUM permissible power supply to the hub is 85W and the RECOMMENDED rating is 100W. Less than that, and the hub won't allow pass-through to protect other components against possible excess current. Unfortunate, but I guess I'll have to shell out for an adequate PSU. My high opinion of Belkin kit is even higher now having experienced their support function. Very good indeed.
