Pioneer AS-WL300 WiFi Adapter for 2011 Networked AV Receivers - VSX-1021

I have the Pioneer 1021 AV receiver and this wireless adapter works like a charm with it. Easy to install, good instructions and once set up, playing my music on the iPhone using AirPlay was such a wonderful experience. Since it is wireless, I can play music from any room in our house. Music quality is not compromised, streaming will depend on your wireless network, but I have had no problems what so ever. Must Buy!

Don't buy this. As reported by others, this WiFi adapter frequently drops signals. I based my original purchase decision on Pioneer's reputation for quality and concern that other brand adapters might not work with the Pioneer receiver. And while I am very pleased with my purchase of the VSX-1121k receiver, I am thoroughly dissapointed in the AS-WL300.After enduring many dropped signals, I finally went to BestBuy, where I purchased a Netgear WNCE2001. I found set-up of the Netgear adapter to be easier than that of the AS-WL300. And, the Netgear adapter has not yet dropped a signal after many hours of Airplay. There are other wireless adapters that probably work as well as the Netgear.For reference, I have an old Linksys type G wireless router, and a desktop PC. After instaling the Netgear WNCE2001, iTunes immmediately recognized my VSX-1121k.Once again, I strongly recommend NOT purchasing the Pioneer AS-WL300.

I bought this for use with a Pioneer Elite SC-71 receiver (purchased in 2013). Operates flawlessly. Initial setup is done on a computer via a USB port. Found that I needed my laptop to be close to my wireless router for the device to be first recognized, but since then the adapter has had no trouble connecting my receiver located on a different floor of my home. Made firmware update for my receiver a breeze! My only complaint is the fairly steep price, given that my receiver can only access Vtuner Internet radio (no pay subscription services).

Works great if you allow it to freely choose it's own address. In the static configuration sometimes I can't access the equipment and have to reset it. Seems like the connection times out or something, and I've tried 2 different routers with it.

I have only been using this unit just under 2 months & it just failed. After going through the instructions again, the device will not re-connect. I spent over an hour installing the AS-WL300 in the first place. I just went back and read the reviews on Amazon, and I see many of the same complaints. (long time to install and high frequency of failure.) This appears to be a horrible product.

Very good product. With integrated features for mobile device, playing music and adjusting volume/other features is very easy. Set-up was not difficult but can be tricky.

The AS-WL300 has a finicky set up and seems to have frequent signal drop out. When setting it up, re-setting to default did not always work. Instructions were inconsistent. CD based user manual instructs you to press the reset button for less than 2 seconds, release, then press and hold for more than 3 seconds. The Quick setup guide instructs you to press and hold once for 3 seconds. A better option that worked for me is to plug in a $99 Apple Airport Express near my Pioneer AVX 1021-K and run an ethernet cable from the Airport Express to the AV Receiver. The Airport Express is infinitely easier to set up and is more reliable streaming music w/ Airplay. Simply set up the Airport Express to extend your wireless network and it works as a repeater (I've paired 2 Airport Express units with my Apple Time Capsule wireless router for whole house coverage). The Airport Express paired with the Pioneer AVX 1021-K Receiver for Home Theater is outstanding and a great mid-priced value for the options it gives you. Along with Airplay compatible, the AVX-1021-K processes 3D HDMI signals, and has ARC feedback if your HDTV is so equipped.

Excellent product. I just did follow the installation instructions and has been working fine since then. All options on receiver are now working at its fully potential

Works great. Did exactly as claimed. Let me wirelessly play my music from my computers, and my IPad though my receiver. Easy for me to install.

Avec l'application "iControlAV5" sur mon smartphone HTC One M8, les possibilités de contrôle de mon ampli sont impressionnants, très bien fait et le design est très beau.Il ne faut pas oublié de commencer par le connecter à un pc avant tout, pour lui mettre le wifi (la connexion wifi interne de la maison) via un navigateur. Si cela ne fonctionne pas, essayer un autre navigateur. Puis via l'application installé, rafraîchir jusqu’à trouver l'ampli vsx ... puis accéder aux différentes fonctions.C'est incroyablement Génial, je suis trop content, plus besoin d'une table de mixage ou autre pour contrôler le son.

Utile per i sintoamplificatori della Pioneer, ma si sconnette frequentemente; non capisco perchè ma ogni tanto perde il segnale e le impostazioni IP.

Esta bien, pero es un poco lioso al principio para conectar al receptor pioneer, me costo hasta que lo conseguí, al final lo quite por utilizar mas el bluetooth, lo tengo nuevo y en su caja, si alguien lo necesita se lo vendo, mi email [email protected]
