Kenmore 9999 Refrigerator Water Filter, White

The package arrived partially opened and damaged. There are spelling, grammatical errors, inconsistent spacing / commas, indents all over the poorly printed box. Look at photo. Returned it concerned it is a knockoff.

Not a good product at all. Purchased and immediately attempted to install in my refrigerator. Heard a pop in my refrigerator and filter would not click and stay in place. Paid $150 for Sears repair to fix what I thought was a broken refrigerator. Turns out the filter pushed a piece of the refrigerator out of place (was able to snap it back into place, nothing broken.) but the cause was the plastic piece on the end of the filter. It is SUPPOSED to be fixed in place and not move, therefore it connects to refrigerator. Unfortunately the piece easily slides on and off, so the piece in the refrigerator can not connect to it and gets pushed out of place.

Seems to work with my Kenmore French doors fridge. Follow the instructions correctly and dont forget to run the water for 3 minutes or a gallon and throw it out. Be aware of the pressure release when running the water. It should go back to normal after that. I replace mine every 8 months...more or lessUpdate: I usually buy this filter but this time I received a defective one. It was missing an O ring or one of the black rubber rings at the tip insert. My fridge started leaking after a few uses. Then we paid too much money for someone to come fix the fridge when part of the issue was the missing O ring on the filter. I didn't submit a return since I don't have the original box and am not sure I will be given a replacement.

This was not even close to the Sears Kenmore 9999 and obviously, did not fit. The 9999 has two nipples at top, this one has one nipple. Thee were no instructions, no return address, no invoice. I would not do business with This particular marketplace again. I received an inquiry from "Sears" asking how I liked my filter and I responded much like this review. I never heard a word back. I ate the cost of this filer, which was only 16.99. In then ordered a 9999 filter direct from the "Sears I deal with, cost of over $60.00, this alone should have told me I was not going to get the correct filter.

I have clean drinking water again, which makes me happy. There isn't a lot to tell about a water filter. As long as you know which one you need to fit and it works properly they are remarkably boring but effective. I call mine Peck and like to yell at it to filter my water and bring it to me. So far all it's done is filter the water, which it does well, at least it will for 6 months like the last few.

Easiest installation. Just followed the directions from the owner's manual (which I downloaded from Sears' website pg. 24). Make sure you turn off the ice maker power switch before you change the filter Controls section pg. 15.Love the free delivery as a Prime Member. Sears website wanted $11.99 to ship.

As you can see looks exactly the same but not top on in all pics is the replacement sent but sadly when you hold them it feels empty and it shouldn’t as well as doesn’t lock in place in the refrigerator don’t buy from this company I feel they are fakes 🤬🤬

Kind of made the water that comes out of my fridge taste weird. I fill up my reusable water bottles with the fridge water and the water had sort of a mildew smell/taste after putting in this filter. My fridge is less than 2 years old and I've used different water filters before without this issue.
