Good value. ANC mode is preferable for even routine listening. Learning curve mastering the buttons.
Only a few years ago Bluetooth headphones were priced out of reach. And pairing between Bluetooth devices was a hit or miss experience. Today most phones are far better at pairing and managing multiple Bluetooth devices. So headphones like these can be adopted and enjoyed pretty quickly out of the box. These Monodeal headphones put out rather good sound-- if you use them properly. Unlike other headphones with automatic noise canceling (ANC) features. you’re going to hear dramatically improved sound once you slide the ribbed ANC switch into the ON position. It changes the sound profile from ho hum to quite good. Because the circuitry so dramatically improves what I am hearing, I can’t imagine using these headphones without engaging ANC. As for the effectiveness of the noise canceling feature: it does moderately reduce external white noise. Sound isolation is rather good to start with. The ANC cannot compete with the heavily marketed name brand $300+ headphones. But that shouldn’t come as a surprise at this price. Be sure to turn off the ANC circuit after every listening session; the power off button doesn’t disengage ANC. You'll be very frustrated if you inadvertently run the battery down while stowed away. When you can’t use Bluetooth, the headphones support operation in wired mode. There’s an input jack on the bottom of the left headphone cup and the package includes a 45” (1.1m) cord equipped with 2.5mm mini plugs. This would allow you to operate the headphones without draining the internal rechargeable battery. The 2.5mm plugs are standard, so you can easily substitute longer or shorter cords. But you’d be wise to turn on the ANC circuit even when you’re not using Bluetooth. This means running the battery. But if you're told to switch off Bluetooth on a flight, the wired mode will be essential to you. These headphones produce pleasant sound with reasonably restrained bass. (If you engage the ANC circuit.) This is good news for people who seek flat response. But if you’re looking for very prominent (or boomy) bass, you’re going to adjust the tone controls or equalizer accordingly. I’m a jazz afficionado and I enjoyed listening to small groups with string bass. The low end is definitely there but these headphones don’t get pushy about it. These do a creditable job at their modest price. But don’t expect these to outclass Bluetooth headphones costing $150 and up. If you factor in the lifetime of internal batteries, these Monodeal headphones are a more practical investment though. As for comfort, I found the product to be light enough for long listening sessions. Ear cups and headband are moderately padded. The maximum volume should be adequate on long flights. As is the case with any Bluetooth headphone, there are lots of buttons. When you first start using this Monodeal headset, you’ll probably find yourself removing and inspecting them any time you want to change a setting (play next/louder, play previous/softer, play/pause, power, ANC off/on). Positioning of the various controls starts to make sense with increased use. The ANC slider switch is ribbed, so it’s the most easily recognizable by touch alone. In addition to the mini plug cord, the package includes a soft storage pouch, micro USB charge cable and an airplane audio adapter (for aircraft still using 2- or 3-jack connections). A charger is not included. The headphone cups are on adjustable up/down sliders to accommodate different head sizes. The cup sliders are hinged allowing you to fold the earcups upward for reduced storage space. If you travel a lot or you’re rough on your equipment you might want to get yourself a hard “headphone carrying case,” available elsewhere on Amazon for $10-15. Most of these will provide space and compartments for your accessories. If you can easily afford to spend something in the $150-350 price range, you probably should not be considering this product. But for the rest of us, this is a solid, practical way to listen to music on the go-- particularly if you appreciate a good return on investment. Be prepared to charge them between uses because the ANC circuit provides the best possible listening experience. These headphones would make a thoughtful gift for music lovers, mass transit commuters and frequent travelers.

Work ok for a cheap headphone
I don't particularly like the on the ear design, but it is a personal preference. The noise cancelling doesn't do enough for me, but this is a cheap headphone. Bluetooth and wired both work ok and the sound is good enough for my purposes. I would like more control of the volume, but at least there is some.

Great Sound/ANC at a Great Price
If you're looking for a good quality Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) headset, without breaking the bank, then you've picked the right one. I ran this pair of cans through my sound tests, which feature the following, but not limited to; 1. ANC Effectiveness - does it really cancel out sound? 2. Sound Quality - Bass/Treble/Mids - with/without Sound Enhancers (Win10). 3. Durability - I gave it to my 6 y/o to use while she was doing work on her Kindle. 4. Battery Life - how long did the battery last on one charge. 1. ANC Effectiveness a. The headset did a good job of cancelling out external noises, even when not connected to a device. b. When connected to a device, but without sound, there is a hissing background noise. Once you start playing music it goes away, but it is more definitely noticeable when using ANC without any music playing. c. I performed the 'tap' test; tapping on a desktop with ANC on and off. The pair of cans did a really good job of cancelling out the tapping background noise. 2. Sound Quality - for the price I paid for these cans, I was highly surprised by the quality of sound coming through these. I varied my genre of music to get a good mix of testing and also tested it on different devices; e.g. PC (with embedded Bluetooth (BT), iPhone and PC (using a BT dongle). a. Overall the sound quality was really good. I listened to Audiomachine, Bond, The Rolling Stones and the Game of Thrones soundtrack to give me a good balance. All genres produced deep bass, clear mids and adequate treble. b. Connecting it to my BT enabled laptop produced really good music quality when paired with the MS Sound Enhancements. 3. Durability - no issues here at all! My daughter used them for about 2 hours, taking them on and off and tossing them on the floor to chase her little brother. She also did not complain about them being too tight on her ears either. 4. Battery Life - I followed the directions and charged the headset overnight, before I started testing. I've used them every day for a minimum of 4hrs and I've gone 3 days without a charge. In fact, I've forgotten to turn off the ANC when I powered off the unit and the battery life was still good the following day.Overall, I recommend this pair of ANC cans if you're looking for your first foray in to the world of ANC, looking for a decent traveling headset and/or not wanting to pay $$$ for name brand.

Noise cancelling is non-existent
The main reason I bought these was the noise cancelling function. The noise cancelling function does nothing, infact the only way to cancel noise is to turn music up quite loud. Disappointed with these as I would have not bought such large headphones if they were not noise cancelling.
