amazing value
For the price, they are an amazing value considering all it comes with! I have used them a bunch of times so far but one of these times I shot 400 images in about 2 hours without any signs of overheating, and the light levels were consistent throughout the shoot. The controls on the back of the strobes are clear and easy to use. No instructions needed for assembling the soft boxes, they proved to be straightforward to put together over the strobes. The octagons are huge and give breath taking soft lighting with the flashes diffused. Wireless hook up to my camera with the triggers and receiver. Works well outdoors or in with the portable stands, very stable with all on top.

Be smart and remember the strobe by itself is only $100
I've read the reviews posted and I want to address some of the complaints first. It seems some don't understand and want more value for the price they're paying. This stobe by itself is most likely around a $100. When you take care of it you'll be able to take many portraits for a long timeIf the stobe came defective return it. No commentModeling Lamp - Don't use it! The lamp will just overheat the unit. The fan is to cool the capacitor for the stobe light. Buy a daylight flood lamp and bounce it off a wall or ceiling it's cheap and effectiveOverheating - Don't run the strobe for longer than 25 minutes and then let it cool for at least 10 minutes. If your taking pictures of a person they'll be ready for a break by then or a wardrobe change. If you need to have a strobe on for several hours then invest in a $400 plus unitLocation Shoots - Battery operated strobes are much better to use since finding an electric socket isn't always readily availableSoftbox - Read the description it states usable as a backlight or hair light but can be used as a main light. The softbox that comes in the kit is suitable for stated purpose. For main lighting a 36" Octagon or larger is needed and the price point goes up as well. Umbrella types can get expensive but are easy to use and no rods to deal withMy ReviewThis is a decent strobe with ample power to produce good lighting on your subject. The photographer should have a light meter that measures strobe light to have the correct exposure. You wouldn't take a picture outdoors without using the cameras built in meter. Remember that softboxes with diffusers soften the shadows and the light on your subject but cut down the light intensity of the stobe so a light meter is important. Before going full power on the strobe up your ISO to 200 or 400 and stay below the highest setting on the strobe. Gradually increase the intensity until your shutter sync and F stop reaches 4.8 to 5.6 using a light meter. You'll get longer life performance from this strobe and not be buying another one anytime soon. I realize that test shots will accomplish a sync and F stop combo but a light meter is a quick, accurate and effective toolIf asked I would recommend this strobe kit but mention that they need to be smart with what I stated at the beginning of this review. The light housing feels sturdy and so far no problem with the tension screws for tightening to stand or angle of a softbox/umbrella

great product for a great price
i love using mono studio lights but they're usually extremely expensive, and usually only come with the strobe itself. but with this neewer product, i've found that the quality of the monolights is surprising, as well as the stands for them. the receivers are cheep and the tend to randomly disconnect from the monolight so they're a little cheep and finicky. mainly the quality is in the monolights themselves. they're sturdy and don't feel flimsy what so ever. and for the price it's definitely worth the buy.

Great customer support
I absolutely love this product. Exceeds all my expectations but it is a little complicated to set up. So I called them and with one phone call I fixed the problem. The little things you plug into the two main light must have batteries and be on the same channels as the receiver you put on your camera. And then the setting electronically on the lights and the setting within the camera. After you get thru that it’s super easy! Make sure you turn off the things plugged into the lights when done or they drain the batteries. But for the price and the quality pictures I take. It’s a steal of a price!

No cover for the strobe.
The umbrellas are TRASH! It takes way too long to assemble, if you’re able to assemble it.The dial that controls the Fstops doesn’t give you clear readings so it’s hard to control your light. One thing I absolutely dislike about this product is that it didn’t come with a cover to protect your model light and strobe light so that’s actually a huge fail! Photographers know that it’s very important to keep your equipment safe at all times and this is unacceptable.I’m very disappointed and now I have to figure out where I can possibly but a cover for this strobe😔.
