high quality, realistic, and (yes) historically accurate.
fan of the guy or not, it should be clarified what this figure represents. George W Bush briefly flew a navy s-3 viking (along with the actual pilot of that craft) to give a speech aboard the USN abraham lincoln. this was the infamous "mission accomplished" speech. mistakeningly referred to as claiming the end of formal military action in iraq in the media, the sign was actually placed on the carrier's command island to celebrate the end of that particular mission the lincoln had engaged in (this is according to the ship's captain as seen in a news interview immediately following the inaccurate and rabid news coverage critical of the {fabricated} message). after the end of this specific mission, the lincoln with her crew was sailing on it's return to american waters. pres bush took this opportunity to congratulate the crew on their accomplishment and to address the american people on the shift in tactics after the successful initial stage of the invasion. if you look closely at the figure's flight suit you can see his proper rank displayed as comander-in-chief. after briefly taking controls of the s-3 upon recieving permission from the pilot, he officially became a naval aviator, honoring his father George H W Bush, a former president and also the youngest naval aviator to serve in WWII (who was also shot down and rescued after one particularly fateful bombing mission). George W's previous flight experience included a type rating for the f-102 during his survice with the texas national guard. so, this is 100% historically accurate.now, on to the figure directly. bbi produced extremely high quality and realistic 12 inch figures representing various militaries and specialties from around the world. this particular figure has a base of the previously released fighter pilot with a new head scuplt and insignia appropriate to represent the president of the united staes at that time. i bought two of these, one to open and display as a generic pilot and one to keep as an historic momento. i can't speak highly enough of the likeness and the quality of detail and workmanship. for the price, it's hard to find a better representation of US naval flight gear from this time period. as an historic piece, it is an extremely good conversation starter and representation of a very devisive, temultuous, and pivotial time in the history of the american empire. i highly recommend purchasing this. again, if you hate the guy or not, you can't deny how eye catching and influential this figure is and what it represents.

One of the worst days in American history!
This doll works equally well as a conversation piece or voodoo implement. The day GWB declared "mission accomplished" signifies the start of the REAL war after the invasion...the war against the insurgents. Life was about to get a whole lot worse for almost all Iraqis and the US military.

MIssion: Accomplished!
I love this toy. I pre-ordered it from KB toys back in the day, but they sold my figure before I picked it up. I'm not sure they understood the concept and I am relieved they went out of business. When I eventually got this toy, recently, actually, it immediately became the centerpiece of my desk. The thumbs up is awesome and the likeness is dead on. He does seem to come with a hand possibly more fitting for his predecessor, but overall fantastic. He h as realistic gear(big zipper, though) and quite a few extra odds and ends.

why saluting with left hand
My uncle noticed he is saluting with left hand in the box and his gloved salute is left handed - this is wrong. Is this worth more $$ because of error mfg made.

Very detailed, amazing figure. A+
Very nice figure. The review should be about the product shown and not about your feelings towards politics! BTW, HE WAS AN AVIATOR who performed Guard duty as an F-102 pilot through April 1972, logging a total of 336 flight hours and was promoted once during his service, to First Lieutenant, so get your facts straight! This is an A+ toy. Every detail was well thought out. Very collectible and will go up in price over time. Limited production. I paid $50 for it when pre-ordered before it was launched, now they go for around $100 if you can find one for sale.
