The ostomy barrier is great! Don't get me wrong my quality of life has gotten 100% better since my surgery in January. I developed a hernia and because of the size of the hernia the barrier strips do the job. Thank you Joseph Patron

This item was purchased because I had constant feces leak. I needed something that wouldn’t allow the feces smell to escape and permeate the air where I was located. In the past I had my bag blow up from immense gas, or a very large amount of feces depositing in my bag and weighing it down. Due to the amount of feces in the bag, it would pull off the adhesive and the bag would explode. I would have brown feces everywhere and the smell would make people run. This occurred while I was eating chicken fettuccine at Olive Garden. As I was eating my salad, I noticed a slight smell of feces as I moved to take a drink of my sprite. When I looked down towards the floor, the smell increased. As I stood up to go to the restroom to change my bag, feces had escaped and soaked through my white polyester pants. I quickly grabbed the dark green linen napkin that Olive Garden uses and wiped the feces off of the top layer of my white polyester blend pants. The more I wiped, the worse it smeared. My boss and several employees had to leave our meals at Olive Garden and go. All due to my bag exploding and feces being all over my pants and booth seat, some feces had dripped onto the floor where I had dropped the remaining bite of my garlic bread stick. When I was able to go back to our office bathroom at work, the adhesive had come loose on one side of my bag and that is where the feces had escaped. After this occurred numerous times at work on our dinner breaks, meetings and reunions, my fellow employees chipped in and bought me these extender tapes to secure my bag better. So far they have worked very well. We went out to Twin Peaks for our dinner break last night and this was the first time that we were able to stay and finish our meal without feces escaping from my bag.

I wanted to like these for the price point. However, they do not stick well like the Coloplast Brava extenders.

If you have an ileostomy, you know that feeling secure and comfortable isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. These barrier strips give me the confidence to go about my day without constantly worrying about leaks. They adhere securely to both my skin and my ostomy appliance with ease, yet they’re comfortable enough that I don’t feel like I’m wearing extra tape. I also really like the shape because it fits and flexes well without lifting at the edges. I’ve purchased these multiple times and have been very happy with their performance. They do exactly what I need them to do. My only complaint isn’t really with this product. It’s the cost. Like so many ostomy supplies, they’re expensive, especially when you’re using a four-piece system and purchasing multiple supplies regularly. I wish products like these were more affordable for those of us who depend on them every day. Even so, I continue to buy them because the peace of mind they provide is worth it. Five stars.

Should have some wider but otherwise great.

These are big enough that you only have to use two. Others three to four. Not too thick, stick good to skin. Excellent value for the money!!
