The vitamin C gives an immediate lift and is great with breakfast, the collagen is ideally improving my joints. It's easy to take and a strong start to the day

Almost Doubled in price in 12 months!!
Firstly this is a good product - Was going to buy some more and wow to almost double your price in 12 months is crazy. Why such a massive increase????? One star as clearly poor value

Leave the lid off for a while..
This jar of collagen supplements arrived quickly and well packaged. Upon first opening there was an unpleasant fishy smell which did totally put me off. I decided to leave the lid off for a couple of days before trialling the capsules and am glad I did. The smell did go and when I tried the recommended 2 capsules, there was no smell or anything unpleasant about them at all. The capsules are in a clear gel capsule of manageable size, are very easy to swallow and cause no upset internally. I have previously tried a well known, very expensive brand of collagen supplements, and could occasionally get stomach cramps with them. It remains to be seen if they do improve the look of my skin, hair and nails but they certainly cannot do any harm. I received this product at a discount for my unbiased honest review.

Collagen - my skin saviour
I have been taking collagen supplements for a while now as I have specific needs as a result of a medical condition. Collagen is an essential protein in the body which can be degraded by illness, ageing, medication and poor nutrition.I take high dose corticosteroids to control my autoimmune illness and a side-effect of these is that they cause your skin to become paper-thin and prone to tearing. As steroids also result in rapid weight gain and bloating, you tend to end up with terrible, painful stretch marks that all the creams in the world cannot fully "heal". In order to assist with tissue repair, a diet high in collagen is advised - but there is a limit to how much bone broth even the most dedicated patient can consume!As a result, taking a collagen supplement in powdered form is the next best thing and I have a personal preference for marine collagen in my capsules. Another reviewer wrote that these are a "gel capsule" however I want to make clear that they are NOT a liquid gel. They are comprised of dehydrated marine collagen powder in a gelatin shell - which makes them unsuitable for vegans and vegetarians but ideal for the rest of us.Another part of my illness causes the erosion of tendons and cartilage and this can be slowed significantly by taking additional collagen to support the existing tissue.I can't say whether it works for wrinkles or skin tone because I'm only really concerned with how it will affect me from a health point of view - but if it does keep the crows' feet away for a few more years, then so much the better.These capsules have a good amount of collagen - 800mg per 2 capsule serving - as well as a crucial amount of vitamin c. Vitamin C allows the body to better absorb collagen, so taking a supplement without it means you need to buy separate Vit C tablets.I really like the bottle too. As somebody used to staring at unattractive medicine boxes on a daily basis, it makes a pleasant change to see a bottle that looks classy, stylish and a little bit posh.Overall, I think these capsules are good value for money and, whilst I won't make any cosmetic claims, I do know that collagen helps me to avoid the worst of the skin damage caused by my meds.I purchased these collagen capsules at a reduced price from the seller in order to provide a fair, honest and reliable review.

I started taking these for my joint pains, my hip in particular was making walking .and running more difficult and I had the general aches and pains you get when hitting the meopause.My joint pain has almost disappeared and I'm really pleased. I can't say I've seen any improvement in my skin or hair but if I do, I will come back and update my review.
