Works for me
I found this during a facial at a resort. I liked it and bought a small bottle. I have since gone through two bigger bottles. I only use a couple of drops a day and it works well. My skin texture is more even. I just wish it didn’t cost so much.

Goes on smooth
I've tried vitamin c serums over the years as a way to treat discoloration but I have yet to notice any significant results. This serum does feel good on the skin, and goes on smoothly. I use it with lotion and only as a spot treatment because my skin is quite sensitive to vitamin c serums and prone to breakouts from it. That being said, I didn't notice any breakouts with this product, though it may be also from me being extra careful due to past experiences.

I will admit right now that I won the genetic lottery when it comes to skin and I have spent my life taking care of my facial skin, apart from some misguided years when I smoked. Now, at 57, I feel very fortunate to have relatively problem free skin with few wrinkles. For at least 20 years, I've used a very simple routine with primarily French organic products (mainly Yves Rocher) and simple micellar water from France. I took a chance on this Yon-Ka serum and have been using it just over three weeks. It is hard to describe the difference I see in my skin, but I would say that my face looks brighter, somehow, and that my skin is not dull or tired looking (which happens this time of year, after being in the house with the heat on all winter). My forehead in particular looks smoother; although I don't really have wrinkles there, the texture of the skin on my forehead is so much softer. I used this product morning and night for a week before I really started to notice undeniable improvements. The serum itself is oil-based, so be prepared for that in the current trend of water-based serums. It smells slightly herbal with a top scent note of sweet orange (not uncommon to smell botanicals in French products). Although it is an oil, it is absorbed by the skin quickly with some gentle massage or patting of the product around the skin. Your fingers don't stay oily and the scent dissipates quickly. The bottle comes with a safety seal on the cap, so you know that it has not been tampered with. The elephant in the room is the price. This is definitely an expensive product and I usually roll my eyes at products in this price range because they seldom perform as well as midrange products at Sephora. However, Yon-Ka has created something special with this serum and I am sold. I wish I could quantify the cost/benefits more visually, but as I mentioned, I have great skin already and this product pushed it to the next level. I can't honestly say that if you haven't cared for your skin or if you simply weren't genetically blessed with great skin from the start that this product will take you from bad to best. But it DOES improve brightness and texture. It will make your skin happy, no matter its condition. It doesn't take much to feed your face so this bottle will last quite a while. If you're still on the fence, Yon-Ka does offer a smaller size of the serum through their website, so you could always try it before investing a couple hundred bucks.I'm a fan and I'm so glad I took a chance on this serum.

NonGreasy Oil w/ 20% Vitamin C For Many Benefits-Essential Oils & Chemical Fragrance Overdone
I have dry, sensitive, mature (55+) skin and like a lot about this Yon-Ka Vitamin C Serum C20 (30ml) Anti-Aging Face Serum, but I disagree with the description that this is a sensitive skin formula. This has well known irritants with a strong aromatherapy type scent from a fragrant essential oil blend AND it has chemical fragrance too. Also, while the Vitamin C type (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate) is an L-Ascorbic Acid derivative and some derivatives are more gentle, I’ve read this form is more stable but can sting and be just as irritating as L-Ascorbic Acid.My sensitive skin doesn’t sting from this serum, but it’s already well acclimated to Vitamin C from long term, daily use. I do get persistent but light itching. I attribute it to the essential oils and likely the lavender as it triggers irritation and allergies when it has a noticeable presence (but I do seem to tolerate products with a small amount). I don’t get a rash or bumps and can use this serum, but my skin feels more comfortable with other Vitamin C serums. I find the scent strong and smell the lavender, though the scent smells pleasant enough to me because it has a lovely orange element that elevates and brightens the scent. This serum is a clear oil with potent 20% Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a daily “must” IMO, and I don’t doubt that this serum oil will even, firm and brighten skin if used regularly over time. Shorter term, I notice added hydration and radiant looking skin as the oil adds a non-greasy sheen. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is another daily “must” for hydration and plumping my lines, so I like this serum best applied after my HA serum and then use my face cream. It can also be mixed with face cream or applied after cream at night but may not absorb as well. I would love this oil, except I feel the fragrance is overdone (especially for sensitive skin). 4 stars. Made in France.

It does work
Well, I'm not a big fan of the herbal scent, but it does dissipate fairly fast. The product goes on smoothly and takes less than you'd think thanks to the oil base. I already have oily skin and was prepared to hate this for that reason alone, if no other, but it actually absorbed pretty fast. I wouldn't be able to use it under makeup; everything would just slide off my face! But for nights it works. And I will say that, once I got used to it, it did brighten up my tone and soften the texture of my skin. That said, it did take some getting used to. I don't think I'm allergic to any of the ingredients, but I did have some sensitivity at first. I applied it over several days and it wasn't until about the 4th-5th day that I forgot it was there to the point that I could just go to sleep. (Until then, I was removing it after a time, building up the length of wear each evening.) I'm not sure everyone would be willing to go to that trouble just to be able to wear it a full night! But it does seem to work. At this price point, though, I don't think I should have to work so hard to acclimate to it.
