Helpful to pull up from lying flat
We did not have a board at the bottom of the bed to strap the ladder to but were able to strap it to the slats under the mattress and it worked as intended. The rope system to pull the ladder up can be in the way and one has to be careful not to trip over it. My husband broke multiple ribs and his shoulder and couldn't easily sit up from flat. With the ladder he was able to pull himself up from lying flat.

Helpful hand when getting up
This product is perfect. My wife uses it to get up with and it does the job nicely.

Dangerous, injury risk.
The overall design of the grip area is good, but the buckle length adjustment is useless. It slides and skips as soon as you put pressure on it. These need a much more secure, positive and intuitive way to adjust the length and to stop it from loosening up when pulling on it. As it is, it's very dangerous as the buckles can slide and let go as you're pulling on the handles causing you to fall backwards unexpectedly, which can be very detrimental to the elderly, disabled or those convalescing after a surgery.

Great assist for safely entering/exciting bed
Elderly friend needed assistant entering/exciting her bed. The various grips allow her to change positions in bed without staining her muscles. Very sturdy and safe.

Not that useful
I found the strap to be slippery when tying to the footboard. Took multiple knots to keep it from slipping. The "rung" are just made of the strap material therefore using it hand over hand, rung by rung to pull yourself up doesn't work. Disappointing. Was like trying to pull yourself up with a rope.

Functional But Unattractive
This is a very strong strap that works as stated. Installation was easy. It does make it easier and safer for me to pull myself to an upright position to exit the bed. I wish it had a little storage pouch to tuck it into and rest on the bed when not in use...rather than just leaving it installed on the bed. I enjoy my bed looking neat and attractive when I am not sleeping in it. I don't need to advertise that I have physical difficulties. Good function, good price.

Really reduces strain on your back when getting out of bed after lower back surgery
Very easy to install on the bed footboard. It is unobtrusive, laying on top of the blanket. After recent back surgery it was a great help in raising up to a siting position without Bending, Lifting or Twisting very much. Basically provides a good handle for arm assisted sit ups.
