Very good brush - not necessarily worth the extra cost
This is undoubtedly an excellent toothbrush, and the remote display is a nice if non-essential extra. When it comes down to the task in hand, giving your teeth the best possible clean, this is clearly highly regarded by experts and I'm very happy with mine. I can't honestly say that the overall performance is noticeably different to my previous lower-spec model though, so you won't miss out if you opt for fewer bells and whistles.There are 3 brushes included, though I find the standard brush is all I need. The flossing brush seems ineffective to me, and doesn't get between closely-spaced teeth. If you are fortunate enough to have perfectly spaced teeth it may work rather better.I find it a bit too easy to accidentally press the mode change button on the handle when brushing. When you want to change the mode, it's very hard to know what mode you have selected (deliberately or not) - all you get are obscure icons on the remote display which tell you very little, particularly if your vision / intellect are not at their peak at that time of day. It would be better if the selected mode was far clearer, and also shown on the brush itself.A very useful feature is the ability to warn you when you are pressing too hard - surprisingly easy to do and not good for delicate gums. However the red warning light is only visible if you are looking at the brush in a mirror, or at the remote display. It would be better to have a clear audible indication.Overall, it is a very good, well made brush, highly regarded by experts, and really does a great job of cleaning teeth. The flossing brush is ineffective on closely spaced teeth though. There are well justified gripes about how long it takes to charge (18+ hours) and aspects of its design are more Johnny English than Johnny Ive. I've tried a variety of different electric toothbrushes, and for me the 2 crucial functions are (i) a head that oscillates in a circular motion rather than just up & down, and (ii) has some form of built-in quadrant timer that lets you know when to move on to the next stage of brushing. The quadrant principle divides (metaphorically) your teeth into 4 groups - top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right. If you spend 30s brushing each quadrant, you magically comply with the the recommended 2 minutes of brushing. If you can find better uses for your money, a decent make of brush with these 2 features would probably serve you equally well for less cash. This is a good unit, but the extra cost is going on non-essential 'nice to haves' and while I can certainly recommend this for anyone who likes to have 'the best', I would be equally happy and have equally clean teeth with a decent quality lower-spec brush.

I haven't used it yet but i've just opened the box and woooo! oh my- ching ching!! it's on offer at boots for £76.99 but amazon does it again at £70, so i can't complain, as i was in 2 minds to send it back as i need these extra funds to buy my iphone 4s!! but hey after seeing this toothbrush, it ain't going nowhere except for in my mouth baby! and i can't wait. I'm loving the digital display. Periodically check the cord for damage. If the cord is damaged, take the charging unit to an Oral-B Braun Service Centre. A damaged or non-functioning unit must no longer be used. Not intended for use by children under age of 3 years.
