Good little toy
Pros- Great for entertaining the cats whilst we're busy- Both my cats (including a fussy cat) love batting it around- Great value for money- Easy/quick activation (1 switch)- appears to be safe and soft on the outside- Unique lifelike movements that seem to really stimulate the cats mentally- Captures their attention quite quickly, diverts their attention from unwanted behavioursCons- Only goes round in a circle, the cats don’t seem to mind too much but it would be more engaging if it went in a straight line. They don’t get much exercise chasing it, only really batting their paws- isn’t able to correct itself after toppling over- when toppled over, it makes an annoying rattling sound against the floor which sometimes puts the cats off- Only works on very flat surfacesSummary- Good value for money if you’re looking for an automatic toy whilst you’re cooking, working from home etc- Doesn't provide much exercise but good for mental stimulation- If you have lots of carpets/rugs, you may be disappointed

Faulty
I've a couple of these already for the cat, but without the tail. This one arrived but all it did was go around in really small circles, so much so it got caught on the tail bit after a couple turns. I tried moving the legs about a bit but that didn't help so have returned and reordered. Am hoping it was just a one off as the ones without tails are excellent.

LOVE THIS!!
The media could not be loaded. My cat absolutely loves this and it’s become her favourite toy! We only have hard wood floors so can’t say what it’s like on carpet, but it’s perfect on smooth surfaces. My cat has been playing with it for hours! The vibration of the hexbug is powerful and keeps going! If it bumps into anything, it just bounces off and keeps going in another direction. It’s really durable, my cat has swiped it across the floor, it’s been flung accidentally across the room and been caught under heavy items and chewed, but it’s in perfect condition still. If my cat swipes it upside down, it vibrates itself onto its front unless my cat does it first, which she usually does lol. If you’re worried at first as your cat runs or won’t play with it, give them a while to get used to it! It only makes a little noise if on wood floor due to the density of the wood and the vibration, but on other solid floor like brick, it’s silent, just depends on the vibration sounds, the bug itself is silent. Small and simple packaging, easy to take out and really impressed overall. Defo worth the money! I will get another in the future! Only thing is, I wish we could choose a colour! Oh and cover your small entrances like under wardrobes or cabinets because they go under easily haha

Poor quality
I had high hopes, but very disappointed. Used only on hard flooring. The little bug struggles to drag the piece of faux fur behind it, if it was a feather instead it may have coped better. It kept spinning in small circles that it would run into the faux fur and stop. Cat wasn’t interested the one time the cat touched it lightly with their paw it fell over and then was stuck being noisy upside down. It was pretty pointless and useless. Great in theory, but poor in reality. Hex bug gone in the bin.

Perfect kitten entertainment
My kitten is obsessed. Keeps her completely entertained - perfect when she's got the willies and needs to use up some energy. She's almost chewed the fluffy bit off completely but that she still loves it. It can be quite noisy (on wooden floors) as she knocks it over a lot. And the battery doesn't last very long, so you have to remember to turn it off frequently. Overall though, fantastic for the price.

Not really suitable as a Cat Toy
This is a very interesting little gadget, and I was really keen to try it as I have wanted a self-moving cat toy like this for ages - but it turns out to be more of a science toy than something to entertain a cat for very long.It moves around, mostly in small circles (about four or five inches in diameter), but occasionally goes in a straight line for about six or eight inches before circling again. If it encounters a wall or edge it will change direction, but it just falls off the edge of a table. It runs fine on a hard smooth floor, but will not work at all on any kind of carpet. So it was fun for me as a curiosity - for about half an hour max.For a cat, it is definitely interesting - at first. We have two six month old cats and they were interested in it to begin with, but when they try to play with it they soon tip it on it's side and it cannot right itself. it just buzzes and tries to carry on walking. Useless - you need to keep righting it for them, so you cannot leave them to play with it unattended. If it moved a bit further in a straight line, or larger circles, or varied in speed, then it might be better, but as it is the cats lose interest fairly quickly. It just does not behave like "prey" enough.Might keep young kittens interested a bit longer, but for me it is not much more than a curiosity.

My cats are obsessed!
This is a really neat interactive toy for my cats. I set it going and they come rushing over to play. They especially like to chase it under a piece of tissue paper. It goes around in very small circles so it doesn't get lost easily.

Cat's favorite toy!
The media could not be loaded. This toy is just amazing. It goes in circles, but this is actually a good thing, as it will not get lost under furniture. The fact that it continuously moves gets the cat's attention for long periods of time. The cat just loves it! Sometimes it grabs the toy by the tail and throws it in the air and runs after it. It probably believes it is alive :) Lots of fun for both the cat and the owner.Battery life is great, but I had to buy new batteries as the cat plays with the toy so frequently.

Unique and impressive little thing
The media could not be loaded. I think this is my favorite kitty toy—- and in the 6 weeks I’ve had the kitty (Maya 💕) I’ve bought an absurd amount of toys for her. So this is saying a lot. I’m very impressed with this thing’s ability to travel and turn itself right side up when it gets flipped (as seen in the video). It really does resemble a bug! But not as icky.I keep it interesting by putting the toy on different things—- the video was taken on my bathroom floor; I also put it in the tub sometimes where there are less obstacles, in a box, or on the tracks of the rolling ball tower toy (it pushes the ball around as it moves). Just now I let it walk through a paper towel roll and Maya was amused.I use it in the kitchen sometimes but it tends to get caught under things like the stove (I had to completely move the stove once to get the toy out), the dishwasher, fridge, etc. You can block them easily if you want to though. Maya has been considerate and tries to pounce on the hexbug when it looks like it’s about to get stuck somewhere. She does it in the attached video before it gets wedged between the sink cabinet and the wall.An added bonus is that the feather on the end lets you know if your floor needs to be cleaned since it picks up dirt and dust haha.Note that it definitely doesn’t work on carpet... maybe a little bit if it’s on its back, but hardly. A couple times Maya took off with it when it was still on and it was mostly quiet since it was on the carpet, so the battery ran down. Overall the battery lasts a decent time though. One more thing- when I first used this toy its trajectory was large— it made rather big circles. Each time I replaced the battery its patterns changed a bit, and now its circles are smaller. I prefer them smaller because it gets stuck under or next to stuff less that way, but one time it was making super tight little circles which was boring. I took the battery out, reinserted it, and it was better.Wish we could pick our own color!

Excellent toy for a blind cat
This is an excellent way for a blind cat. I even attached it to the end of the cat wand so she can track it through the air. The only drawback is it tends to go through a lot of batteries, the batteries aren't really super expensive but it's just something to keep in mind. Also if your cat grabs it and hides it when it's on it does not auto shut off.But as I said this is a fantastic toy for a blind cat it lets her play like a normal kitty does
