Garmin still makes the best GPS Unit.
I owned Garmin GPS units when they first came out, twenty years ago. I was an early adopter, used it for work and personal travel. When I met my wife in the summer of 2008, she had a Tom-Tom GPS, she preferer my Garmin, so I got her one. When we replaced our cars they had built in GPS. Last summer my car was totaled and I had to replace it. I bought a newer version of the same car, but it didn't have a GPS.I didn't think that I'd miss it, but I did. Recently I went on an animal rescue mission, I bought this new Garmin for the trip. 5,300 miles, fourteen states, the Garmin never left me down. My only regret is that I didn't purchase one with a larger screen. But that is my own fault. I highly recommend.

Great simple GPS
The GPS arrived earlier than expected and works perfectly. This is a later version of the one I purchased 15 years ago for my Tacoma pickup. I has many helpful features including traffic alerts, restaurants, hospitals, etc, I use it for local trips and along with WAYZ for longer trips, since my older truck has no built in navigation system. I find that for traffic delays and rerouting the WAYZ works better than the navigation system in my other newer vehicles.

It's the only one out there
Most people use on board GPS in their cars, unless you have an older car. Then they use their phones, which to me is silly.I wanted a stand alone GPS without having to keep my $40 Trac phone in a cradle, hooked up to a charger. Looks like Garmin is the last company to make such a thing. This is very much like my older Garmin that I have used for well over a decade. Oddly it came with no instructions, they are built in and menu driven so you have to turn it on. Update it right away, the screen says it will take hours (took about five minutes for software and map updates). All GPS have a tendency to take you convoluted routes, Garmin does as well. I haven't run this on the road yet, but EVERY GPS/Phone or whatever will occasionally be a bit slow and turn into my mother in law "you should have turned back there". I purchased the 7 inch screen which is small for some, I prefer seeing more of the road. I'm very happy with it.

No Problem Whatever
Works promptly and efficiently. I shouldn't have waited for the previous one to be stolen to purchase this one.

Fast delivery but non-replaceable battery
The seller, Electronic Express, Nashville Tennessee, sent the item by USPS. it arrived 2 days early in perfect condition. Notifications describing the progress of the shipment were sent daily. I am very pleased with the promptness of thedelivery. The Garmin 53 seems to be fairly easy set up and the 5" screen is bright and easy to read while driving. The power cord is somewhat clunky but doesn't interfere with the controls/buttons on the dashboard. My only complaint is that the battery is not replaceable or removable. Sooner or later the battery will no longer be rechargeable. Hopefully when the battery dies, the Garmin will still be useable when plugged into the car's power socket and capable of retaining items saved to its memory.
