Great Replacement Pads with Clear Instructions
I was actually considering tossing out my Audio-Technica M50x headphones because I couldn't find a replacement set of ear cushions that looked like a good option. I'm glad I found these. The cushions look great, feel comfortable, and gave my headphones a fresh new life. Installation was straightforward, and the included instructions were clear and easy to follow. Once installed, the fit was excellent and the headphones looked almost new again. The overall quality met my expectations, and I would definitely buy these again if the leather eventually wears out. If you're trying to extend the life of your M50x headphones instead of replacing them, these replacement pads are a great choice.

worked on my ATH M40 headphones
I looked forever to find this product, black, but for the ATH M40. It just didn't exist in any color other than brown (ew). So I bought this one, which is for the ATH M50, and it fits just fine. Anyone who doesn't want a brown replacement cover for their black ATH M40s, should consider just buying this one instead. The one main negative to this product is in the installation directions. They aren't great. Despite that, I was able to do this in less than fifteen minutes. Anyone with enough patience and skill can manage this if they take their time, use common sense, and carefully observe how the old one was put together. Everything you need is included, even a piece of tape for the headphone wire and the screwdriver you need for disassembly. Removing the old one was simple, and getting the new one on was only slightly tricky. This could be due to the fact that I was putting an ATH M50 cover onto an ATH M40 but they're so similar in size that I doubt it. It's just a bit of a tight fit, which is necessary to preserve that factory look. Practice getting the alignment right before you remove the backing from the tape. Once you stick the tape onto the headband, carefully stretch the fabric around the band until the foam section is correctly aligned, stick the velcro together, and reassemble. I had to manage the wire inside the headband and make sure it didn't get pinched during reassembly, I don't know if that would be the same on the ATH M50. I assume so, because there is a piece of tape in just the right spot for you to stick the wire on to hold it still. The tape isn't super-sticky but it doesn't need to be; the velcro is doing the heavy lifting there. Despite being used for headphones not in the recommended list, fit and finish were just fine. The material feels about the same as what I replaced, just typical pleather over a thin foam cushion. The foam is thicker in this replacement than what was originally in it. That's a plus. And, the color matches. After installation, the headband replacement looks like it belongs there. It looks really close to factory, actually. It only lacks the brand name logo that the original had, and I don't care about that. The cushion is slightly thicker, which adds a small amount of comfort to what was already a comfortable-to-wear headphone. Looking at it now, no one can tell I've had these for almost a decade. Very pleased with this product and would recommend.

Just like new!
Very good quality and easy to install. Directions were OK and the little screwdriver is great. The quality of material seems like the original and I like that I can choose a new color. Installation was easy. Make sure to remove all of the previous materials and clean before installation.

great product! so far so good
I bought this to replace a zipper-style headband replacement that failed after only a few months of use. The product quality seems to be good, comparable in feel/texture to the stock headband of the M50x, and the design seems like it will hold up a lot longer than the zipper style headband covers. Instructions were pretty clear, and the tool provided was surprisingly well-made. Any problems with fit and finish were my own; I didn't realize that I wasn't supposed to take the protective foam padding off the *top* of the band (you have to replace the plastic/foam on the bottom). Oops! Even with my error, the product fits and sits well. I've used them for a couple weeks with no problems.

Well worth it
Gave new life to my favorite pair of headphones. Foam is thicker then OE and more comfortable, you will need to go up 2-3 clicks more than before when adjusting your headphones to fit your head. Leather is also softer than OE. Took ~3-4 minutes to install, very simple. Also, this one does not have a visible Velcro seam or exposed zipper like other options, looks close to OE when installed. Great product overall.

Great Replacement Headband
I used this to replace the disintegrating headband on my old ATH-M50 set. It looks a ton better than a lot of the other options available that just kind of slip on. Those look terrible, in my opinion. . .like you put a sock or a "scrunchie" on your headphones. This? A LOT cleaner. This is the one you want. The little notches they put on this really do help line the thing up when installing it. Very thoughtful. I would recommend testing the installation first before removing the "tape" covering. There is a velcro attachment portion (you can see it in one of the photos I uploaded) that you may want to put either to the back or the front. I put mine to the back. But you'll need to test it out first so you can tell which side it's going to end up on. I did appreciate the thoughtfulness of the little screwdriver they included, but the handle is so small diameter that I couldn't use it to actually remove the screws. I'd suggest that they look at making that have a larger handle if it doesn't force them to raise the price much. I just tossed it and used my own electronics maintenance set to remove the screws. The color of this matches (not perfectly, but acceptably well) the corresponding set of ear cups/pads that this company also sells. I would have appreciated having both in a perfectly color-matched set so as not to have to buy them separately. Don't let this put you off of purchasing them -- you have to have them right up against each other to notice the very slightly different shade of brown. You cannot tell any difference when they are both installed. Overall, this a really well-executed item and I'm glad it was available to me to help extend the life of a really excellent set of headphones! But please do sell them in a set, guys.

Does the job, but a pain to install
Definitely a good budget option for a headband replacement, but it's held together with velcro, which doesn't bend to conform with the band and audibly snaps open whenever you put them on. It's not technically breaking, but it feels like it is. It's comfy once it's on your head and that's what really matters. I also had a lot of trouble installing it and getting both clamps to go back together, but I don't think that will be everyone's experience.

An attractive upgrade at an attractive price
Having just replaced the ear cups on my AT MX 50's I felt like I should colour match the headband. Out of the box you get the replacement headband, a precision Phillips head screwdriver, a piece of two sided tape and an easy to read instruction sheet. On inspection, It's clear that the leatherette headband material is exactly what Soulwit uses on their replacement ear cups. And that makes sense to me where colour matching is concerned. As you can see, it's a perfect match! Comparing it to the factory original, it feels comparable where suppleness is concerned. Removal of the original cover does require you to unscrew the plastic covers and cut the stitching. But that's easily done with scissors or a stitch ripper if you have one. Don't be alarmed if the plastic covers stick a little as they have some two sided tape on them. Mine pulled off easily enough. Preparing the new cover is as simple as peeling the velcro closure open and unfolding the entire assembly. The replacement headband comes with two sided tape pre installed so you may not need the separate piece included in the box. Although you could use it to freshen up the ones under the plastic covers if you wanted to. Or, you inadvertently do what I did and install the headband "backwards". Which may not be an issue for you depending on your use case. If you don't mind having the seam from the velcro closure facing forward, do nothing. Yes, I could just wear my headphones backwards, but that isn't conducive to my podcast set up and would show on camera. So I removed the cover and repeated the entire assembly process a second time. Which is no fault of Soulwit in any way. Just be mindful of where you want the seam. The installation itself is really straight forward. Line up the headband, press it firmly in place. Fold the cover over the band. Close the velcro and replace the plastic covers. As I really wanted the headband to match the ear cups, I can say that this replacement headband accomplishes that perfectly. It feels more or less as comfortable as the factory original. Obviously you lose the Audio Technica branding with this one, but if thats important to you then you shouldn't be considering it in the first place. But for me this is 100% a solid replacement / upgrade, and I totally recommend it.

Perfect for Audio Technica ATH-M50x
Bought this for my Audio technica ATH-M50x and I am really amazed how it changed the look of my headphones. It is comfortable to wear. Longevity is something that only time can tell. Installation process was easy and they had provided a manual with appropriate photos which helped with the process. I highly recommend this product for someone looking to revive the looks of their old Audio technica ATH-M50x headphones.
