Let the saw do the work!
I bought this to cut through four red bricks in a wall that's at least thirty years old. I was apprehensive because of the number of one-star reviews that all claim the tungsten-carbine inserts break off the saw very quickly if you use the saw to cut brick or pavers. I let the weight of the saw do the work and applied no downward pressure on the blade. It seemed that the saw cut better the lower the pressure. It was a slow but completely successful process and there is almost no wear on the carbide inserts. From this, I suspect that problems of tooth inserts breaking off might have been due to using undue pressure on the saw.

Surprised how good this was
People saying that this saw gets ruined by the blocks are trying to cut the wrong type of block. Our house is made out of the soft breeze-block and this saw cut through it easily and remains intact.Very happy with the purchase.

Good Quality
Used on internal wall made from clinker block, and apart from the hardened crystalline pieces of the block, it coped well. Cuts clay bricks easily.

Terrible
This my 3rd block saw in a few yrs , as I use them for work being a bricklayer, this saw keeps getting caught on every push and pull , it doesn't cut smooth , I now need to buy my original one as this saw is a waste of money, it snags up , when out against my old one the blade is very thin , maybe this is the reason , I don't know why but it's a terrible masonry saw .

This saw will not cut 15mm cement board.
The saw might cut brick products like Aircrete. However i needed it to cut 15mm cement board. The problem is it has too few teeth and these are not sharp. An ordinary wood saw cuts the cement board much better.

Not good for advertised materials
Teeth broke off on just a 75mm deep cut in brick might be OK for softer materials
