After 25 years, Audrey fforbes-Hamilton and Richard De Vere return in a special one-off episode of the classic and much-loved comedy series. Hot on the heels of her acclaimed success in The Good Life, Penelope Keith undertook a role that would further confirm her place as one of Britain s leading comic actors: the role of Audrey fforbes-Hamilton in To The Manor Born. Over three series the nation followed the ups and downs and some rather perilous corners in the relationship between the ex-lady of the manor and the self-made millionaire; a relationship that turned to marriage in a delightful last episode. But did they live happily ever after? In the 25th Wedding Anniversary Special, the cast and crew from the original series come together once more to find out. As the couple prepare to celebrate, a secret is revealed which throws all their plans into jeopardy, and it will take some pretty clever thinking if Richard is going to save the marriage and the day. SPECIAL FEATURES: Behind the Scenes with Cast & Crew Interviews, Cast Filmographies, Subtitles

A welcome return to one of the best classic sitcoms ever
I loved the original series of To The Manor Born and was hopeing the 25th anniversary reunion special would be up to scratch. Luckerly it was - it was just like watching the old series. Peter Bowles, Penelope Keith and Angela Thorne settled back into their old roles - it was like they had never been away. Obviously some of the original cast have sadly passed on but most of the surviving cast including the Rector were back. To add to the enjoyment the old locations have been used too.The dvd includes the reunion special as well as a making of featurette. I would personally love to see them make another series, or at least another special. Fingers crossed !

To the Manor Born
Couldn't wait to watch this DVD, loved the series back when! So nice to see the old cast and slot back in time. As ever Penelope Keith was joy to watch Peter Bowles gave a great performace as the long servering husband who adores his wife (Penelope Keith) the chemistry between them on screen was brilliant. Will watch time and time again I'm sure.

Happy endings
What a delight to be given another episode of one of the best series ever produced. I wish I had aged as little as they appear to have done - or is that just make-up and photoshop coming to the rescue? Whatever - it doesn't matter and it's just as good as ever. Buy it and enjoy.

Why can't one-off specials always be this good???
I was wary when first learning there had been a one-off special episode made after 25 years for this great series. But I shouldn't have worried, it is in every way as superb as the original show.Anyone who loved To the Manner Born, will love this special episode. Buy it immediately; you won't regret it!

Silly but Good.
Great to see what is left with the cast together. Ridiculous new butler! Beyond daft plot when you think of the wonderful series. Just adds to the collection if you've already bought the original.

Shame on them...
I highly enjoyed the original series and gleefully lapped up the DVD box set recently. Granted, a few duff episodes, but on the whole, as good as I remembered it. With such glowing reviews by many on Amazon, I hesitantly purchased this one. Clearly I didn't hesistate for nearly long enough; another geological time period would not be short enough a time to have lapsed before parting with my pound of flesh. With the original writer and most of the original cast this promised to deliver, but it delivered like the Royal Mail (as of 2009). You cannot blame the cast, who, like Dr Frankenstein, attempted to bring life to lifeless matter. In fact, it was slightly at odds with the original to see good old Marj as less the eccentric spinster and more a relaxed, radiant and beautiful older woman. Please don't get me on the subject of the Brabinger replacement who was as irritating as he was puerile a character. I don't think I laughed once, though perhaps I smiled twice. Don't waste your money or tarnish your memories. This was truly awful, and say that with due sadness.
