Great machine for sanding into gaps.
I bought this roller to get into gaps between wood frames and into tongue and groove gaps which were inaccessible to my main sander. It did an amazing job, particularly with the 5 and 10mm sanding wheels. Also found the 60 MM. wheel useful on stubborn paint on the wider pieces of wood but I wish they did a bigger choice of sanding wheels in the mid range, say 20 and 40mm, as well. The sanding roller itself is very easy to use but creates a large amount of dust with no facility for catching any of it. It has a deflective, removable, cover but a face mask and goggles are essential extras when you use it. Changing the sanding wheels is a doddle. Using it one handed is also easy. The measurements quoted are the widths of the sanding disks, therefore matching the widths of accessible areas. The depths the wheels reach into decrease as they wear out and, sometimes, I could have done with a deeper reach which Bosch could achieve by increasing the size of the "core".Nevertheless its a brilliant piece of kit. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

Sanding Made Easy & Quick
I bought this to expedite the process of paint removal from copper pipes and a door frame. I was able to strip both in 30 mins. I'm amazed at how versatile this sanding roller is and how it will remove paint down to bare metal/wood, in an instant. Removing the guard meant I was able to get into tight spaces with the pipes, using the brass brush. The Lamella roller made very short work of the door frame, mainly because it has no mouldings or grooves on it. Also, this sander is very powerful, so dialling the speed down is a good idea. I really like how easy it is to change the different rollers with the push of a button.

It would however be a little daft to use this on large flat surfaces when other tools are better designed for the job
I bought this after struggling to remove old paint from a garage door and finding chemical removers very messy to use and not very effective. My next job is the staircases and after the chemical experience of the garage I don't want to use it on the stairs.Certainly this tool seems to do the job. The sanding roller works well and the tool is able to get into quite small spaces. Unlike another reviewer I had absolutely no problem getting a decent flat surface. As with my belt sander, if you don't use it correctly it will not do a decent job but a light touch and keeping the tool moving removed the paint without digging into the wood. It would however be a little daft to use this on large flat surfaces when other tools are better designed for the job.The dust extraction worked very well when connected to my Bosch Professional shop vacuum unit but having a hose connected does limit the tool's access to tight spaces so it can get a bit dusty in use. Initially I found the sanding roller clogged with paint quite quickly but this may have been because the paint had been treated with chemical remover and was a little sticky. In any case I found that the rollers were strong enough to withstand a wire brush which brought them back to a good useable condition. My only concern is availability of replacement abrasives which is why I have dropped one star. I have never seen this tool in a retail store and only Amazon and a couple of very expensive suppliers on eBay seem to have the abrasives so it could be hard to get replacements in the future. For my use I spent half the price of this tool on chemical stripper for the garage that did not do the job and was a nightmare to clean up after. If this tool does the job on the stairs it will have cost no more than the chemicals so it could be binned afterwards if necessary.

Literally does nothing that it says it can unless you like spending a fortune on the sanding pads
One of the most pointless tools of our generation. Literally does nothing that it says it can unless you like spending a fortune on the sanding pads. Rubbish. Used it once for some railings gave up as doing it by hand was quicker. Also as an added bonus you have to compromise the possibility of losing your eyesight as almost everything is impossible with the guard on.

boscj sanding roller
great product, works a treat but no accessories for sale via amazon ( 1 x sanding sleeve (80 grit only enclosed with product) and when I contacted local bosch dealers they seemed pretty unaware of the existence of the sanding roller and its associated accessories.

Bosch PRR 250 ES Sanding Roller. Not for precision sanding. But then what is precision sanding?
There's the hard way and there's a much easier way. The Bosch PRR 250 ES way. It might be easier but the finish isn't great. I 've tried to sand off varnish from a mahogany door and surround and whilst it's stripped the varnish pretty well that's only part of the job done. I' m now going to have to sand the whole lot with a plate sander as the finish is so poor. Not as good as I hoped but good at what it's for I guess.

Excellent tool.
This is a great tool and if you have a lot of intricate sanding to do, it will save a lot of time. That said, I still have to sand by hand after using this tool to get a prefect finish and the attachments are expensive.

Amazing
Ive now sanded 2 doors using this tool, it's amazing, 2 passes with it and I was back to the bare wood, sands curved edges with ease and the dust extraction set up is incredible, tiny amount of dust left over using a henry hoover, other attachments are available and do come in handy. Nice long power cable and different power settings, if you had to have only one sander this will do everything
