I had the intention of buying one of these prank gift boxes for several years, but always forgot until it was too late. This year, I bought the "Coffee Talkies" box to house a folding knife I purchased for my brother-in-law. This prank gift box appears to be a legitimate product all around, and most people would not fathom the idea of purchasing a box by itself just for this purpose. It looks like an "As Seen on TV" product that would be on an end shelf at a major pharmacy.The box was a little flimsy when unfolded, too much for my taste; I wanted to make this look and feel as if it contained a legitimate item. Having plenty of room, time, and a sophisticated sense of humor, I made a few modifications. First, I hot glued one end of the box (all three flaps) shut, making sure it was flush and even. Then, I cut some corrugated cardboard to the sizes of each face and lined the interior of the box with them to improve its rigidity, and packed plenty of material inside to increase its weight. After packing the knife inside and topping it off, I meticulously taped the remaining end shut with a two pieces of trimmed packing tape. The result was a legitimate feeling set of Coffee Talkies(TM), just waiting to be unveiled with awkward anticipation.When he picked up the wrapped box from under the tree, I suppressed my grin, smirking genuinely in the same fashion as my other family members opened my gifts to them. "Oh, OH! What is this!" he exclaimed gleefully, as he tore open the paper with my 2-year old nephew to expose the semi-gloss box. Upon inspecting the package, his plastered smile slowly subsided as he turned the box over and over, reading about the features of this ridiculous product. "Thanks, Glen... Wow. What is this?... Uhm...... Hm." Sure enough, my brother-in-law lost some faith in my social and reasoning skills somewhere along the line. I let him mull over the practicality of his new possession for a minute or so, and decided to save him from additional awkwardness by informing him his real present was deep inside.Totally worth it.

The Onion has produced many gag gift boxes; alas, they are far too fleeting in nature, and just when you find one you like and want to buy more, they're gone!! So this gag gift box was a great find, and the looks on gift recipient's faces when they unwrapped it to realize they were getting a coffee mug walkie-talkie (or so they thought!) was priceless -- one of my recipient's went so far as to lie and say that she had been wanting a set of these! Perfect for anyone who is giving gifts to someone with a sense of humor, and great for "Secret Santa" gifts, when you'll have that more many onlookers to be caught off guard by this fake-out gift box! I'd encourage either the giver or the recipient to recycle this gift box and reuse it -- not just for the environment's sake, but also for humor's sake!

I can understand while some people might find this box flimsy, but I thought it was fine. It's not a hard cardboard box, sure, but it's fine for carrying most things that you don't plan to throw around the trunk of a car.I really enjoyed the concept. My only complaint would be that I think it's a little more expensive than it needs to be.

This was very funny and a hit at Christmas. My husband spent a lot of time looking at the box pretending to be excited while obviously confused as to why I had pick Coffee Talkies for him. I would do use this again on a new suspect, worth purchasing as an add-on to get free shipping.

my dad had his xmas gift wrapped in this. He really thought he was getting walkie/talkie/coffee mugs for xmas. it was hysterical. i got the dog slippers for my mother's gift and she did not appreciate the gag at all. be careful.

This is a great idea to pull a fast one on someone. I would have given it a 5 star, but the box was placed in a envelope and was bent when I received it. The seller should place cardboard along with it for shipping. The Prank Box looks so real. The flaps give it away that it's a joke, but that's ok. I can't wait to give him our anniversary gift in this cleaver prank box! Have fun with your prank too!!

this box is perfect for concealing the real gift and the box looks so real that the person will have to believe it. i always get pranked at Christmas and this will get them wondering why i got this for them
