I have given this pen 4 stars on how good it is to use the pen.There was a video on YouTube that helped me on how to install the cartridges and nibs into the pen.I couldn't get the pen to work by the instructions on the packet, I would recommend watching the YouTube video if you purchase this item.I thought the ink cartridges wouldn't fit in the pen but it was because there was another attachment stuck inside!I have read mixed reviews on this pen and was not sure to purchase it, but am pleased that I did.I have never done calligraphy before and wanted to learn. Returned my nibs to be converted to left handed, only to be told they were already left handed!!! If bar code says MC1235L, already left handed!! Wasted postage!!

Ok, I wasn't expecting too much from these to be honest, and only bought this kit because I was buying another kit for my right handed daughter, and thought we could do some writing together. The last time I wrote with a fountain pen was at school and even with a left handed nib I spent most of my time cursing and scratching at the paper. The difference in 1980 was my Parker pen was heavy, metallic and looked incredibly well made, whereas these are plastic and cheap looking. However ink and nib technology has obviously come a very long way, because I've just spent 40 minutes writing with one of these pens and...surprise, it's easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Just make sure you hold the pen in a consistent position and you'll get good results. I can't vouch for other modern kits, but this does the job for me.

Well I don't really 'hate' anything but I have to rate this as a 'don't like'. I am disappointed because I searched long and hard for a 'LEFT HANDED' KIT. This set is advertised as just that so I didn't hesitate - also, it is a starter kit, so perfect for me as a beginner. It is mis-represented though. When the instruction leaflet fell out of the card insert it explained how to detach and send off the nibs in the kit and get them replaced - at no extra cost, with left-handed nibs. That is not what I signed up for, paid for and was eagerly awaiting. I couldn't use the pen but it was just as well because when I tried to copy the diagram and insert the ink cartridges that was just not going to happen. It described in pictures how to load the cartridges top to tail inside the body of the pen - NO - doesn't happen. Not even with one cartridge in will the pen close up. Very disappointed all round with this purchase and sending it back today for a refund - with the pad because that's no use either now. I'll stick to the shops for this in future.

2nd time ordered this product because l love it so much now l have enough in every pen colour no need to swop them

I have a great feeling when I write with this.It gives a whole new experience. The nibs are quite good so is the refilling process. The only downside, albeit small, is that it feels quite cheap because of all the plastic. Would prefer a better material even if it caused it to be a bit pricier.

(see edit below) I followed the instructions to load the ink into the pen and the ink got stuck half way down the pen and cannot get it out without feasible breaking the pen. It is not down far enough for me to load another actually ink cartridge into it. Either way, I bought a pen and now thanks to the products supplied with the pen itself I can't use it.Very disappointed.(Side note: only one of the nibs you get is compatible for left handers and you must pay Maniscript to send you left handed nibs 'for free')Edit: I got an return and exchange to see if I just received a faulty pen - however - the ink does not fit still so I cannot screw the lid shut. It, however, did not get stuck this time so a mild improvement. I will try obtain some bottled ink and leave a proper review at a later date - though I am still disappointed with the product.

I like this left handed calligraphy pen. It has a textured barrel that is secure in my hand and I like the variety of nib sizes. My only complaint is that the ink flow stops after I use the pen about 45 minutes and I'm not sure why. I ordered the pen in the winter and it sat frozen in a mailbox for several days before I realized it was coming by mail, not an Amazon truck. So maybe that did something to the ink cartridges. One of them had burst when it froze and ink ran all over my hand when I took it out of the package.It helps to stand the pen upright with the nib facing down between uses.

I already tried a couple of different cartridges. I inserted them like it is said in the instruction - no result. It writes for a little while and then starts to scratch the paper.

Originalmente no es para zurdos, existe la posibilidad de enviarlo al fabricante y solicitarle...si es que la tiene, la correspondiente plumilla para zurdos, te lo cambirian sin cargo, abonando solo los portes... Yo considero que eso no es lo que se indica en la descripción:"set de caligrafia para zurdos"Lo he devuelto, amazon no ha puesto ninguna pega, como es habitual
