I’ve had many roasters from the legendary Sirocco (my first) to the Alpenroast to homemade (sifter, pan/heat gun) to Hottop to the Fresh Roast (with extension tube) to the relatively new Popper. This is a nifty roaster; IF it holds up, it’ll join the Sirocco in the Home Roaster Hall of Fame.Pros: This roaster heavily borrows from the best features of roasters past and present. Its has separate controls for heat, fan speed, and time, similar to the Popper roaster, are carefully thought out. Learning a lesson from the Fresh Roast roaster, the roaster chamber and its base are even wider and even more stable. Another plus is you won’t need a flashlight to see how the beans are coming along — the borosilicate glass is wonderfully clear. Chaff capture is nicely modeled after the Fresh Roast.Cons: The control for heat has an “Auto” feature, a preset. I’m still trying to figure out how to get to it but it’ll take time.Unknowns: Durability. Nearly all my electronic roasters eventually broke down. If I get three years of use from this one I’ll be happy ~ but I bought a three year warranty to make sure I get there. ;-)

The handle attachment to the metal band is at best flimsy. Mine came apart. Awaiting direction from seller. It's really a knock off of the out of production Hearthware Precision Coffee Roaster. But not quiet as sturdy.

I was able to do a dozen roasts until it completely stopped working. It's also kind of loud, very hard to hear cracks. When it worked, it roasted ok. But I would not recommend this roaster due to poor quality control, ultra short product life, and poor customer service from the seller.

You want to jump into roasting beans like i did, after investing thousands in a burr grinder and Italian espresso machine?Its the ultimate next step and for the price this thing leaves me more than satisfied. It has an auto mode but i went right into doing it manually to get the feel of how the roaster behaves. Needless to say every batch ive roasted has been delicious, literally the best tasting coffee ive had.Now it only roasts 100g per roast but hey im having a blast roasting and experimenting with different beans its just fun. The price is amazing especially with that 30 dollar coupon they put out there, it was a no brainer, 120 dollars for one em pot roasters that has the spinny thing or this, ofcourse this! Now im just hoping it lasts me a long time. So far i love it!

Works great. Unfortunately, when you go to the manufacturer website, they no longer have it (or any roasters) listed and you'd get the impression that they never made it. You cannot activate the warranty through the popup on the website. You have to send an email that you get through a QR code via chat. It will create an email for you with extremely bad english. Not reassuring.

Just stumbled on this. Apparently it's been around a while, but for some reason it never came up in any of my previous searches. So what we have here is a purpose-built adaptation of the time-honored, entry level home roaster, the popcorn air popper. Reshaped chamber, chaff collection, some automation, (time, temp, cooldown settings) and presto, you've got an ideal little unit. I've been roasting for several years using a more labor-intensive setup and this is a major improvement in both convenience and, especially, consistency of results.

Great pricing. I was totally surprised at the level of quality and functionality of this coffee roaster. Does an excellent job. This unit is well-designed with an excellent level of flexibility. I create a super-even roast of any level that you want.

The roaster is super small it can only roast a half cup of beans at a time which ends up taking forever to roast a bag.
