Given the size of this item I was slightly sceptical that it would be able to jump start my 2.2 diesel Land Rover Freelander so I decided to see if it could do so with the battery disconnected from the car. I had some problems initially as the switch on the cables needs to be held down to engage the relay and only gives a short time before cutting out. After three or four attempts it did manage to start the car but only just. Perhaps in a real situation with the battery still connected it may have managed better. The jump start cables do obstruct the on/off switch when in use and the indicator LEDS are obscured by being on the base of the unit rather than being clearly visible. I also agree with other reviewers in that the LED torch is on the wrong end of the unit of the unit to be helpful. Overall though I was impressed that such a small device could start a relatively large diesel engine whilst still apparently having 97% charge remaining. I think a 4 star review is fair, given the obvious improvements that could be made.

Charged this up to 100% put it in the back of the Jeep and for got about it for 4 months, neighbours car had a flat battery went over with the tenker opened it up it was on 94% followed the 4 instructionsSwitch onPlug in the terminalsConnect to batteryStart the carEngine fires up straight away unit is now on 93%, neighbours says send me the details I need one of them.Can’t fault it, held its charge in a freezing car for 4 months and only uses 1% to fire up my mates motor. It saved me hunting for jump leads and moving my car, bonnet up etc etc, great bit of kit!!

I got one of these as a birthday gift from my wife this week. I duly charged it up and left it ready to put in the car this morning.We went out to our car to find my grandson had left the interior light on all night and the car battery dead flat.How's that for karma?I connected this up and it started my 2.5 litre diesel with no trouble at all. Not only that but on checking it still has 100% charge and is ready to use again.I am very impressed and recomend this most highly, it's worth every penny.

Worked great for powering a low-cost, low-power projector for an outdoor Christmas display table in our town (one of those 50 pound cheapies). Just a note of caution, the provided jumper cable lead has a timer cut-off after about 10 seconds - so you cannot use the provided cable with clamps to power something continuously with 12 volts (as I wanted to do). However, this feature makes a lot of sense if jump starting a car. Since I connected it to a power inverter, I used an EC-5 DC Cigarette Lighter Socket Cable (the connector type is EC-5 for the 12v output). It worked great and ran it for about an hour.Update (9/2019): Just had to use it to jump-start my Vauxhall Zafira (diesel) and it worked perfectly. I will be honest, as a mechanical engineer, I was impressed that such a little device produced enough current to turn the diesel engine over. I see that it is not available currently but I recommend it.

Great product. I used to have a similar device to jump start my motorcycle but it was stolen from my car. This one has a greater capacity and feels heavier and chunkier too which really makes it feel like a quality item. My bike refused to start even with the battery charged so I connected this and it started on the third crank and only used around 9% of the charge. I'm very impressed with it.Update after 18 months: stopped working when I needed it. Showed 14% charge then charged to 100% but immediately dropped to 14%. Wont hold any charge.

So pleased I got this delivered yesterday .. This-morning freezing cold, Transit van only used for very short journeys. didn"t want to know ! … hooked up to battery, started first turn of the key . Well happy . ( took about 3 hours to charge to 100% from nothing ) still showing 100%...

I was sceptical at first but works a treat , the trick is to use the boost button on the jump lead plug, I jump started a diesel fiesta when a large portable jump starter would barely turn it over,took the charge down to 80%,then I jumped a V8 diesel range rover that never had enough power to switch on the dash lights,worked no problem took the charge down to 52%, I'm actually going to get another one for my brother,it would have got 5stars but having to press the boost button then run round to turn the key before the boost turns off ,not a problem for 2 people, plus you can charge phones and tablets, great gadget !

As a full time motor mechanic I used to keep a large booster pack in my own vehicle at all times. Then I discovered this beast, tiny but massive in performance. The battery life last for ages unused and starts large vehicles many times before needing charged again. Ideal for personal or commercial use. This starts my 2008 crv ex 2.0 petrol first time every time. Highly recommended product and seller.
