Impressive Right Out of the Box
I just got the MiniLab 3, and so far, I’m really impressed! Right out of the box, it feels solid and well-built for such a compact controller. The keys and pads are super responsive, and the layout is intuitive—I was able to dive in and start using it with Ableton immediately.Setup was quick and easy, and it integrated with Ableton seamlessly. I haven’t explored all the features yet, but the included software bundle is a nice touch and gives you plenty to work with right away.First impressions? This is definitely a high-quality MIDI controller that’s great for both beginners and experienced producers. I can’t wait to see how it holds up with more use, but so far, it’s a winner!

Sliders, knobs and PADS, OH MY!
Just get it. For portable MIDI controllers you have two options: this, and the keystep. I chose this because it's cheaper ($100!!!) and has many of the features of the keystep. You get an arpeggiator, a chord builder, REAL MIDI out and a control jack for a sustain pedal, etc.I haven't used any of the bundled software, but I have used Ableton Live before and I love it. Not my preferred DAW, but it'll be great for someone new to the scene. So, I haven't been able to use any of the DAW integration yet. That said, it does sync instantly with Reaper and so many of my standalone software synths. It's literally plug and play. I started making a song within 10 minutes of opening the box.I love this thing. It's my first Arturia product and I think I'm sticking with them from now on. Totally recommend it for a portable controller, or even as a full-time one.

solid design
Well, yes the keys are great. The pads are ok. When using the device with its own software all the knobs and things do stuff. I bought it to use with my iPad pro, using logic and garage band. Its a great keyboard but part of why i chose this one is that it says it can auto assign its knobs and sliders to fit most popular DAWs. Well, I guess maybe that claim doesn't extend to iPad? i now have to figure out how to assign jobs for all the knobs and sliders manually. It's one more project I have before getting to my actual project of music production. Or I can just use it for keys but that's cutting out half of the device's functionality. So, Arturia, if you are reading this, I emailed you directly and heard nothing back. Wanna let me know how I can get this going, please?

highly recommend
My grandson loved this and spends a lot of time with it. It was a Christmas gift and from the moment he opened it. he ignored other gifts and started using this and was very focused. It’s very high-quality.
