Magnets too strong.
Without lubricant it makes a loud scratchy sound. So I squirted some silicone lubricant into it. That fixed the noise and it was moving quite well, but then I squirted too much in and it started to stick in intermediate positions so I wiped away some lubricant. Now I think it's as good as it'll get, but I find the magnets too strong and short range. It takes so much force to wrestle a plane into motion that it'll probably overshoot and come to rest wonky. You need to use a very precise amount of force to avoid that, and I ain't that good. There's no way to adjust the magnets either. I didn't have that problem with the tornado but then it fell to bits.
