Yale 12" / 316 mm Slimline UPVC Door Letterbox, Slimline Letterplate - Polished Gold Letter Box

Much better than the broken letterbox it replaced ever was. The springs are strong, the finish is great, and it fits securely. The foam pad which is attached to the sprung flap is definitely better than paired brushes, letters come through more smoothly and it blocks the draught better too. The slot liner is also great, not only does my letter slot look so much neater with this fitted, but it's smoother on the hands to post through, and better insulating - it really helps to block out the small cracks around the metal plates, further eliminating opportunities for draughts.It was easy to fit, for the most part. The screws were excellent and much better than the ones they replaced. The only slight issue I had was that my door was actually slightly too thin for the officially stated range of thickness that the liner can vary, and I had to cut the plastic down. However it is nice thick, rigid plastic and a few minutes with a saw, a knife, and some snips resulted in a still neat but somewhat shorter set of plastic parts. This is one of the only options I could find that would fit the larger dimensions of my letter slot, and I would have loved for a version to be available with shorter slot liner pieces. Otherwise, absolutely faultless, and a significant improvement over a broken letterbox at a great price.

As the title says this does the job. Not being an aficionado of letter boxes, I have no idea whether it is top quality. It has nothing on it to suggest it is made by Yale (including the packaging) which surprised me a bit. But not as much as it arriving with no screws! Thankfully the old screws could be reused.

Came with two screws but no instructions. Screws were not suitable for fixing both internal and external flaps, would need four screws or 2 longer boltsAs it was a like for like replacement it was easy enough to install using existing screws. Not sure how long it will last, the existing one we replaced was there for more than 7 years until the spring broke on the outer flap, the foam on the inner flap was all but gone when I removed it.

Excellent product. I bought this letter box flaps to replace the cheap plastic rubbish that my social housing uses because when its windy its bang, bang, bang bleeding bang and keeps me awake and is so annoying. This on work a treat the spring is tight and no more bang, bang. Word of caution this is for a UPVC doors and fit nicely some of you will measure properly because it just cover the top and bottom of the letter box hole / slot with about 4 millimeters top and bottom. Left and right side was no problem so I can recommend this for people who would like a draft free quiet night.

Perfect replacement for an existing letterbox that had broken/missing springs. My old letterbox used to rattle in heavy winds and the inside flap had broken springs for years. My one gripe is that the letterbox flap only opens to about 90 degrees (which is probably why the springs had broken in the first place) so I'm hoping this direct replacement will take the punishment of our postman and flyer posters. Be very careful when choosing your letterbox because of the height dimension - it must be correct for your type of UPVC door.

It was exactly the same as the old one even down to the position of the screw holes in the door so it took only took 10 minutes to complete the job.

It took a lot of research and measuring to make sure this was the same letterbox as the broken one it was replacing, but worth it, as it was an incredibly easy swap for a letterbox that was easily 20 years old! There's a lot of these available on Amazon, so make sure you check your measurements before ordering! Typical Yale quality worth paying a bit more for.

Does its job perfectly. Sturdy and very easy to fit. Looks more like brass than gold, though.
