bandsaw
I brought this to replace my old one which was getting past its best ,read all the reveiws and made my choice ,not perfect but used with in its limits it has turned out to work quite well. Have to spend a bit of time setting it up but instructions are clear with photos showing where parts are. Was delivered on time, over all quite pleased.

The quality of this band saw is not what you would expect
The quality of this machine is not what you would expect at this price point or from this manufacturer. The saw blade vibrates by about 1 to 2 mm side to side regardless of the position of the vertical support guides. If has taken quite a while to adjust the wheels to make sure the blade sit's correctly and doesn't come off. Nothing was adjusted correctly out of the box.The table is finished very poorly, no precision at all.The clamp on the table guide broke with 2 uses (no actual cutting, just setting up). I made a new one from wood which is miles better. The mitre fence is very cheap and you would have to set it precisely for every cut. I cannot see how you could get high precision though as the blade vibrates so much. This the first band saw I have owned, but I have used far more expensive and better quality saws in the past.It is ok for what I want, but I am pretty unimpressed. I didn't want to spend too much, but thought getting something that was twice the price of the cheap ones would have been a lot better than this.I did toy with returning it, but it is just good enough to keep.So would I recommend this band saw or buy again, no way. Shop around and find something better. I wish I had gone with the Axminster band saw now. If I consider upgrading that is the way I think I will go.

A good buy
I'm impressed! Easy to set up and cuts really well. The machine is quiet and seems well made - time will tell.

Excellent Hobby Bandsaw
Received the item in express time even though it was expected in 5 days. Good start.Had to set-up the machine as it was clearly NOT set-up at time of manufacture. However, this was easy to do and the product works excellently. Straight line cutting is consistent and reliable. Had a small issue. The casting holding the lower blade guides and its associated thrust bearing decided to break and when examined closely (and photos taken), showed crystals in the allow used. This caused a weak spot. However, when advised, the manufacturer could not be more co-operative. Replacement part arrived in 24 hrs and the machine is back in operation and working as well as it did when first acquired. Will certainly go back to them when another item is needed that they produce.

Not impressed
I must have got a duff one, not from this supplier I must stress but I didn't want to wait.I spent a consdierable time setting it up properly having read the instructions carefully, watched numerous Youtube guides on the things, ordered a decent 3/8 blade from Tuffsaws but could not get the supplied blade to stay on the botton wheel when adjusting the tracking. Having found an odd circlip in the box i realised this was supposed to hold the top wheel on but was so large you could slide it on and off the shaft by hand. Having nipped it up to make it stay in the groove on the shaft i thought my problems would be over. Still couldnt get the blade to stay on the bottom wheel when spinning the top one for the tracking though. On inspection and measuring it seems the bottom wheel is about 10 mm out of line left to right, the top wheel seems similar but the other way, therefore making it impossible to track the blade at all, short of making numerous spacers up for the motor mounting, something highly difficult on this as the construction of it makes it impossible to get a straight edge across both wheels at the same time. Ignore all the Union Jacks on the unit, this isn't made in England and doesn't calim to be though you might think it was looking at the picture, its the same one as the Seally version and others just painted a different colour I believe.I didn't expect that much for the price, just to cut 6 mm ply in a straight line. I can only assume that mine has been dropped from a great height by the carrier or not clamped down properly in the jig when welded. I have contacted where I bought it from and offered to bring it back for inspection if need be, if I get a replacement and it actually works I will update this review at a later date.
