Best value for money option for FS7/FS5 DTap
The media could not be loaded. I've ran Kastar batteries in my a7sii for a couple years now, but was a little skeptical to how good these might be because of the price being so good. These batteries are solid! I can finally power my monitor with the same batteries as the FS7. I get about 2 and a half hours of battery life powering the FS7/SmallHD 702 Bright. If you're using these with the FS7 you'll need to get the Swit 90 degree DTap connector.

From three batteries to one! Keep a backup tho!
(Update 2 years later: these batteries are still working! Im gonna buy two more, gave it 5 stars for longevity, thanks Kastar!)So far so good, on a full charge it gives me about 2hrs of recording time while powering a Sony FS5 and Shogun Inferno via the Dtap. Cuts down on the weight of the rig TREMENDOUSLY with only having one battery instead of three. It’s a revelation. I don’t know why other people would only rely on these though. As cool as they are they are still CHEAP so Im staying prepared for them to fail. Pretty stupid to bet the farm on cheap batteries like these and then blame the battery for ruining your reputation lol. Keeping my original batteries in my kit as a backup but I’m gonna buy at least one more plus a fast charger because these things are AWESOME.Every other battery like this is twice is much and at that point, you might as well get a VMount or AB system going.Kept one star off because I wish it came in a sliiiightly larger capacity.

I really hate to leave this negative of a review but here goes.......
These batteries are at a GREAT price point and I so desperately wanted them to work. I would have settled for half as good as OEM and this would have been a five star review. Sony batteries without the D-Tap are $265.00. I bought this Kastar battery for my Sony FS5 to use in combination with my Atomos Shogun Flame. I figured I'd buy one, give it a shot and then purchase more if I liked them. The first day I charged the battery, I used it without issue. It worked perfectly. No issues whatsoever. After the first initial use, I charged the battery and on my 2nd use (A paid job with client standing over my shoulder), as soon as I plugged the D-Tap into the monitor, the battery went completely dead. A fully charged battery went instantly dead as soon as I plugged the D-Tap in. I figured I might have a faulty battery and no big deal, I'lll just exchange it for a new one.My replacement battery arrives, I charge it, I use it with my FS5 and my Shogun Flame, it works awesome, and I'm hopeful again. I fully charge it and I bring it out to my next paid shoot and literally the exact same thing happens. The 2nd time I use it, I plug in the D-Tap and the fully charged battery goes completely dead. No lights on the battery indicating power, and the camera and monitor completely shut off. That's 2 batteries that died the exact same way. Are these like one time use batteries or something? Not sure what the deal is Kastar but I just can't recommend this battery to anyone.

Great value
This battery works great on my Sony FS5M2. I use it to power an Atomos monitor in addition to the camera using the Dtap plug. I purchased two and one would not take a charge upon receiving but it was replaced promptly and I now have two excellent units. I think this is a great value and quality product. Recommended!

be careful to not short it out.
If you plug in dtap wrong it will short out battery only way to fix is to place battery on charger for a second. never leave with out charger. I keep one in the truck with an ac/dc cigarette lighter adapter. This way if im on set with no power i can always just run to truck for a second to reset battery i also always keep a couple of spares. Also if you are using it on the sony fs5 to both power camera and monitor. the camera will shut off when battery is at 25% you can have two bars left and you can still have plenty of power for monitor but because of a communication error with battery and camera the camera thinks the battery has less power than it does and begins saving footage and shutting down. Pros are i don't have to mount a big ol V mount battery to my camera to power camera and monitor cons it doesn't comunicate with battery well and shuts down when there is plenty of juice in battery. Battery will last for 2 straight hours powering both power hungry pro res 4k recording monitor and camera. Battery could last longer but camera believes battery is low and shuts down too early.

Great battery
This battery is awesome and the added benefit of a d-tap makes it clutch for my FS5. This device can last about 6 hours if you are not charging a monitor. And it can last about 3.5 if you are charging something else.

Works just fine.
These inexpensive batteries work exactly the same as those 3x the price. No issues with them at all. I'm using them with Sony FX6 and they work like the original Sony batteries.

Will not charge with Sony BP-U60 Charger
The battery life when I tested it was decent. Lasted 2.5-3 hours with my Sony F3 drawing 24w per hour. So not 84Wh as described but 65-75Wh which for the price is still decent. My problem comes with the fact that for some reason it is approx 2mm too thick for the Sony BP-U60 charger, an the contacts do not line up. All my other batteries, including a Kastar BP-U90 and other 3rd party batteries all fit the charger and charge fine, but for some reason, these were made differently. And I thought with USB 3.0 I'd be able to charge it from the USB port, like with Kastar NPF batteries, but it doesn't charge from the USB port. So without wanting to be forced to buy a new charger I have to return these. It would be 4 stars but I can't actually review the batteries over multiple uses because I can't charge them.
